Hi sorry for the newbie question. I will be starting my first AG brew soon using equipment that i have built up using a cool box as a Mash Tun. My question is, when a recipe calls for 60 Mins at 66C then 10 Mins at 75C how do you raise the temp of the Mash Tun, do you just add boiling water...

So the Wilco yeast has done the trick and it’s bubbling away nicely. What will happen now with the old yeast? Will it just sink to the bottom or will it spoil the brew?

Yeah I’m the same, gone with Wilco’s to try and get it going.

You know what, I’ve got the exact same problem with mine, been on the go for 3 days and no activity, at a constant 22C and no activity what so ever. Shall I just add a sachet of Wilco ale yeast?

Not sure I’m not from the area originally. I know there is Wilco’s but it ain’t much cop. I want a proper LHBS.

it was just the normal furry mould that develops when you leave things uncleaned for a while, not the black spots.

Sorry don't have a pic, i needed a pint so cleaned it all off with a kitchen wipe! I was just wondering how i could stop it whilst enjoying the beer and the post about spraying sanitiser would seem to be the best idea. Thanks for all the replies i just thought that someone must of come across...
