Explain my water report to me :)

I have has a report done and am now messing with the bru n water spreadsheet. I have sorta managed to work it out but I realise I don't really understand any of it and am just banging numbers in :) So can someone tell me if anyone of these numbers are super high, low, or anything jumps out...

    Flexible gas line.

Those push fit connectors do look alot cheaper than JG ones. Which size do you use? The amount of them is a bit overwhelming and I'll probably order the wrong ones. Any idea which ones screw onto a corny disconnect and also into a regulator?

    Flexible gas line.

Good info here. On that curly pipe from eBay are you saying that works with JG 3/8 push fit connectors? As I already have lots of those attached to my disconnects. So sounds like a plan if that works

    Flexible gas line.

Goin to 3/16 would work well. Can it hold reasonably high pressures? Sometimes I carb in bursts at 40psi. I never considered using the same setup as my beer lines for the gas.

    Flexible gas line.

I use these for the beer lines and they work well. A bit slow but I can wait. wasn't sure if they were suitable for gas tho.

    Flexible gas line.

What do I need to buy to move from the usual 3/8 rigid gas line to the flexible tubing I always see the yanks using? The rigid stuff is just a massive pain in my fridge. It's all 3/8s to JG pushfit. Mostly cornies but a few Sankeys too. I gather I would need to replace the JG push pit with hose...

    Fermentation Fridge Thermostat bypass wiring

Mine was done by joining black and brown and i think yours is too. But its mains electricity so don't take the word of someone on the internet. Check which 2 are wired to the compressor.

How to build a stir plate for less than ten quid

It's genuinely far better than either of my homemade stirplates and only marginally more expensive. Though did take 2 weeks to get delivered. To be fair I do also now own a grainfather so perhaps I'm the sort of that likes the convienence too :)

How to build a stir plate for less than ten quid

I know homebrew is mostly about DIY but having built a few stir plates and then bought this. You can't really argue for £20. Works really well even with my 3litre flask. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F192803187355

    Commercial Kegs

Yeah you can do it that way for sure. It's alot of wasted gas though getting the cleaning fluid, rinse water and star San into and then out of the keg. It would purge it nicely tho :) I'd just remove the spear and do it the quick and easy way tho. Pressure washer works a treat.

    Commercial Kegs

The type of spear makes no difference to how hard they are to clean. You can't your hand in so it's either use oxyclean or a pressure washer. I tend to simply rinse them with water, starsan then just fill em. As long as they have not been empty for too long. You can get a torch and just about...

    Commercial Kegs

You need to defeat the security on the spear first which believe me is incredibly fun...not. well actually the American d-type ones aren't too bad. You have neither of the types i have gotten into though so not sure what they use. Sankey stypes are a full on PITA.

    Pressure Fermenting

I have a fermentasaurus and have done various brews with and without pressure. I am not totally convinced it has made my beer loads better but does come with some advantages. You can ensure absolutely no oxidation on beers like neipas, which is nice. You can also naturally carb stouts and...

    Schwarzbier

Reading radical brewing it seems to suggest the central Bavarian version is a black lager but it varies across the rest of Germany and in some cases is more of a porter. Probably explains it as I've only had it in Munich and Bamberg.

    Schwarzbier

Afternoon I know this translates literally as black beer but I've always thought of it as a black lager. Dry, refreshing, clean with a hint of roast. I fancy brewing one but every recipe I find seems to include either loads of roasted malts (a stout?), 90%+ Munich (a dunkle). Some have crystal...

    Belgian yeast experiment......................

I did something similar. I have a fermentation fridge but it doubles up as my kegerator. I had 4 kegs on tap and no way to use the fridge to make a beer in summer. So figured I'd make a beer for winter but use a heat tolerant yeast. So a Belgium breakfast stout. Epic fail. Yeast added lots of...

Using a stir plate to add o2 at pitching

It's a pretty basic 4.8% oatmeal stout so nothing extraordinary. It'll probably be fine with just a shake but wanna keep the yeast healthy as I'm reusing it straight after for a bigger beer (though not huge, 6.5-7%).

Using a stir plate to add o2 at pitching

I do but I don't have a paint mixer. I do have the whirlpool thing for my grainfather but it doesn't fit into the FV.

Using a stir plate to add o2 at pitching

Probably sounds a bit odd but I currently have no way to get o2 into a brew for tomorrow. Bar shaking my FV which is a bit big for that. I have built up some London ale III from some slurry from march in 2 stages and now have a very active 2 litre starter. I was thinking crashing it over night...

    Wanted: pump

I have one of these you can buy: https://www.brewbuilder.co.uk/ts5-mini-mag-pump.html It also has a 3 way ball valve attached that I use to prime it. Great little pump and used less than 10 times.
