I've never used gas for carbonation before and all of the different types of bottles and cartridges has me confused. First off, does any that I get have to have a certain kind of fitting? I've seen screwed and blank cartridges. What is the minimum size I would need to force carbonate a 19l...

So you can still keg it and carbonate it, then transfer to bottles, etc 2 weeks later for refrigeration?

Just to clarify as I'm going to purchase a couple of cornies...there's no point kegging my brew without a kegerator eh? Just bottle this first brew until I can get a fridge set up for the kegs?

I reckon we have similar tastes and I've been wondering what else to try, so I'll dip my toes into the IPAs with that I think athumb.. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it, some of the IPAs I've seen look tremendous and I'll try any beer once (and finish them all!). Plenty other wheat beers to try...

I'll be using the Cooper's kit for my first attempt, would I just use the orange and coriander flavoured boiling water to make my initial mix with the thick malt mixture that comes in the tin, plus the 1kg of spray malt? Then only add cold water on top of this initial 2-3l of boiling wort?

I bought one of the little bottler taps, but is there a reason that can't be attached to the tap on the 1st FV? Is it to do with the sediment at the bottom of the 1st FV, that might hinder the flow or cause the yeast, etc to come out in to the bottle?
