    Geterbrewed?

Hi guys Firstly thanks for getting my order to me in little over a week; not bad given the circumstances. Unfortunately part of my order arrived damaged; the 50 capacity bottle tree- have emailed you regarding this and attached a pic. All the best

Busy times from home brew shops

My Geterbrewed order arrived this morning- pretty good going given the circumstances; but my bottle tree was broken in it's packagaing; so have emailed them.

Busy times from home brew shops

Had an email from Geterbrewed to say my order has now shipped. Was ordered on the 31st so not bad at all considering.

    Birds in my garden

Personally I have no birds feeding on my balls or nuts in the garden; but it'd be Karen Gillan for personal choice if I did....

Busy times from home brew shops

I'm just waiting till tomorrow (payday!) to get a Geterbrewed order in. Not in a great rush for it. Seeing as I am saving money on commuting to work I have even treated myself to a bottle tree in addition to stuff for a Galaxy IPA.

Create a constant temp brewing bath

I've used the water bath method a few times, I have a fermenting fridge now though. When I used the water bath I used a lower wattage aquarium heater so I can't comment on 100w one. In terms of heater in brew, it seems like too big an infection risk to me personally... but I know other people...

AG IPA 15 days in the bottle- worth trying or no?

So I cracked a 500ml bottle. Carbonation was good, maybe a little overly fizzy. Little disappointed with the lack of hop aroma considering it was dry hopped with both citra and cascade. Taste wise you can tell it is a young beer, bit rough round the edges and quite bitter. I will cross my...

AG IPA 15 days in the bottle- worth trying or no?

Thanks all! I know with IPA's it's a bit of a trade off between it being too green to drink and catching it when the hops are at their best...think I will shove one in fridge for a couple of hrs with reasonably low expectations. If it's not good then that's more or less to be expected and if it...

AG IPA 15 days in the bottle- worth trying or no?

Well...at least until the weekend... when neither of us work :D

AG IPA 15 days in the bottle- worth trying or no?

Hi mate Cheers- I already have everything sourced for next recipe; a Galaxy IPA...have to split childcare at home with SWMBO though so may have to wait a bit!

AG IPA 15 days in the bottle- worth trying or no?

Working at home for foreseeable so that's an option! Thank you.

AG IPA 15 days in the bottle- worth trying or no?

Hi all very quick question; I'm new to AG and bottled a Citra / Cascade BIAB IPA 15 days ago. It has been sat in the cupboard to carbonate at 20c and that seems to have gone well, all bottles firmed up well. My plan is to move into garage for a week and then maybe try a bottle- does 3 weeks in...

    New Brew

Nah. I seldom bothered stirring the yeast into kits and never had a non-ferment!

    The Coronavirus thread.

I work in a University and pretty sure we are going to do something...maybe close over Easter to minimise the effect to students...or maybe it is just wishful thinking as I'd like a free holiday and some time to brew!

    Galaxy SmASH help

That's interesting. My first BIAB AG was an all Citra IPA because I love Citra. I think though I'd swap Citra for a cheaper bittering hop next time and because it is so much more effective as a flavour / aroma hop. The beer was actually okay as a first attempt, too dark as I used 10% Crystal...

    Galaxy SmASH help

@Northern_Brewer and @trueblue thank you for those comments...I am guessing harshness is when you use Galaxy as the bittering hop as well?

    Galaxy SmASH help

Interesting- in the past CML was quite cheap for ingredients so this is good to know if I ever go back to them (last time I got the custom grain kit from Geterbrewed which worked out cheaper).

    Galaxy SmASH help

So aside from the fact there isn't a single malt and there isn't a single hop...I am perfectly right in labelling it a SmASH....lol. Ah well; long as the recipe looks okay that's the main thing! I have 10g of Magnum left over from previous brew and I didn't want to bitter with Galaxy as it seems...

    Galaxy SmASH help

3l/kg for the mash is pretty much the "standard" ratio that you see quoted so you should have no problems there. Thanks mate...I'm annoyed I bought Galaxy ages ago and never brewed with it so it went past it's BBE and I chucked them. Really want to give it a go now; especially as I really like...
