I really want to try the Sabro and I love Citra, so tempted to go that way but really struggling with finding Sabro recipes for some guidance on quantities to use.

Thanks again... I do 10L ish BIAB brews; so I'll plug it into Brewers Friend and see what that gives me with a simple grain bill of 3kg Maris Otter as starting point. What sort of hop schedule did you use there if you don't mind a further question? I'm tending to go 30 mins for bittering...

I love Citra. Simcoe I have had a lot in commercial beers and like what it brings flavour wise, so wanted a crack brewing with it... Hopefully I make a decent job of it. I'm going 05 too I think for this one to let the hops be the focus.

I have got one in the cupboard under the porch put aside to try this.... Perhaps it isn't oxidation then as it doesn't taste too bad... But I still think the finished product is darker than when I bottled it somehow.

I don't think I'll be using M44 again; it was a lot of loose sediment in the FV with the Galaxy IPA; and too many worries if it was actually working. Ironically I only really used it to have a change from US05; which I had been using till then. I've never tried US 04.

I think eventually, budget allowing, I MAY for an all in one, outside my cash flow at the moment really... and I am not the most practical of people so the prospect of spending all that, not being able to use it properly and / or knackering it bothers me:laugh8:

I used to invert them a few times to mix the sugar in- I haven't on any of my AG beers and won't moving forward. I'll try and fill the bottles a bit fuller too see if that helps. Won't be checking if beer is fermenting so often either as a means to reduce risk- last brew I used M44 and it didn't...

Maybe I got 2 things mixed up then- does having the cooling wort open to oxygen darken the wort then? with an IPA I'd like to avoid that too.

I have tended to use MO and flaked barley in my ipa's and not much else- more grains including oats in the oatmeal stout which ended up horribly thin and too sweet. I think my oxidation problems are likely doing transfer, or possibly splashing when cooling wort (which I do in the sink)...
