Mods to a 40L Buffalo boiler

To keep a rolling boil remove the bottom and unclip the thermocouple from the base and tied it away from the base, that way your not modding any electric parts.

HELP! Foamy beer... but not the whole keg?!

Check your dip tube next time it's empty. I had a small hole in one of mine although near the post that was a right pain as the gas aerated the beer on way out.

Proper Job the Mrs brought 6 back from this weeks shop as last time she could only get two (which I've grown on the stir plate). Trying to stay off my cascade apa I brewed 3wks ago with a dried voss until it clears a little more. First brew since November so low stock. Californian common in...

OXIDATION TEST - Bottling Home Brew Beer!

Interesting test, I normally tip the bottles but coincidentally bottled a Belgian golden last night and didn't without thinking about it. I might try it myself purging a bottle and shaking another next time to see, as others have said with glass you can't squeeze the air out and while some co2...

Elderflower Champagne: Time to bottle or dangerously explosive?

I'll let the experts reply this one. About 10 yrs ago I made one following Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe which turned out to be wrong so was quite sweet. The yeast slowly chomped away in the bottle but luckily I used Grolsch bottles as it pushed the seal out and stuck itself to the ceiling.

    Good dried wheat yeast

Thanks for the feedback. I did use WB-06 once (think it was AG#2). I'll order one up for the next brew. Any reccomendations on temperature for this one? It was top of the fridge with a fleece last time, it'll be in the fermentation fridge this time.

Hi all I often make a heffe but not been impressed with the last two made with MJ M20 came out quite thin. Just wondering what reccomendations are for other dried yeasts. Previously I've had good results with wlp380 but moved away from liquid due to the planning around children meant was not...
