I kid you not my tomato wine tasted like liquid pizza booze. And sulphur lol. It was tragic. That said they say it’s made commercially and doesn’t taste like that so maybe mine got contaminated.

See that was my beef with green fig wine, it just tasted like wine lol. I was like this is 6 tins of figs which ain’t cheap, and I don’t get that flavour from it.

Christmas Pudding Wine is gorgeous, made this years batch back in April ready for the winter. Tastes like Madeira/Sherry/port. Pumpkin Wine is gross lol So is Passata Wine. Guava Wine is one of this years favourites, along with Lychee.

Our local Tesco petrol station had a queue 20 cars long by 5:50am this morning. A £40 limit on fuel logically can't affect someone who never reaches the limit. That would be like Tesco limiting me to a £300 shop, it's not an amount we could ever spend there in one go anyway.

I have reduced my drinking to only the weekends (which is actually working out well for the booze stock levels) and I am under orders not to make any more wine until the new year. Of course I've made sure there will be plenty ready for Christmas. Good luck, also in the long run it'll work out...

Works well with ham too. When you boil it, use 2/3 cider 1/3 water instead of just water. Makes good stock for Pea and Ham soup.

I like this recipe. Although personally I would campden tablet the mixture and leave it 24 hours before adding the yeast, which he doesn't seem to do.
