    Misophonia

OMG I'm so glad other people actually have this. I mean it's crap obviously but it's good knowing I'm not just mad lol. My dad was like it a lot, especially at meal times - probably where I get it from. My son is 8 and at that age, well, he's basically a jumble of energy, twitches, weird...

    Misophonia

Wow I didn't realise it had a name, I have this with several noises, all of them really annoying. Various mouth noises - chewing, loud breathing, I've had to delete an audiobook several times because I couldn't stand the breathing noises they made. I hate whistling noises, although I have been...

    Cider advice

I made a wine with this stuff a couple of times that was presumably roughly the same flavour. Very nice.

What equipment would you least like to be without?

Many thanks guys that’s very helpful. Reckon I’ll get one of them. Oh yes I appreciate I just rammed my way into this thread, so: The equipment I would least like to be without is clearly a brew bucket, also hydrometer (SO useful) and siphon tube.

What equipment would you least like to be without?

Yes I noticed this combination of products mentioned elsewhere and would seem like a great idea to me were it not for the price tag. I consider myself something of a budget brewer, hence attempting to achieve an acceptable temperature with blankets lol. However it occurs to me; if the addition...

What equipment would you least like to be without?

A quick few questions if I may, The heat pad, is it worth getting if my house is poorly heated? Will a heat pad by itself be sufficient to keep a brew bucket (usually wine) warm enough? Or will I need to wrap it in blankets or something as well? Do I need a thermostat with a heat pad and...

What are you listening to tonight.

Sharpes Triumph. Cracking stuff, Rupert Farley does a brilliant narration of this series.

    Nectarine Wine

That is an excellent colour man

    Freezing fruit

Works better frozen, you get more juice out of it.

Tinned peaches Recipe makes 2 gallons

I got 3 gallons of Blackcurrant on the go at the moment using 12 tins of blackcurrants in syrup. High hopes for this one lol.

    First wine

Did you do a gravity check?

Tinned peaches Recipe makes 2 gallons

Ack sweet wine is drain cleaner for me lol, can't stand it. Chilli Wizards sell dried elderflower at a good price. Probably make elderflower later in the year when the stocks run drier lol.

Tinned peaches Recipe makes 2 gallons

grape concentrate sounds great. I only use sultanas cos they are cheaper and easier to get hold of. I make most of my wines to 1250g sugar per gallon, taking into account sugar from fruit and sultanas of course. Possibly slightly less for elderflower as it is supposed to be a bit more delicate...

    Elderflower TC

That sounds excellent, quite surprised the high juice worked lol As a side note, M and S do a very similar sounding juice (which I suspect is almost identical to the tesco one) which is very nice in gin and tonic.

Tinned peaches Recipe makes 2 gallons

I think I used 10 of the larger tins of pineapple (about 420g odd) when I made 3 gallons a while ago, and 375g sultanas.

Tinned peaches Recipe makes 2 gallons

Peach and apricot works quite well too if you can’t get enough peach tins. Also try tinned pineapple, that’s ace.

    Magnum Elderflower Cider Kit

Hello, I am considering buying this kit as frankly it sounds ace lol. For anyone who has tried it I have a couple of questions: Is it mainly elderflower or does it have apple in? Is it a good kit? Flavour wise etc Approx what percentage can I expect? many thanks

    Parsnip wine

You put the cordial in before bottling or when you pour a glass?

    Parsnip wine

Granulated dude. Don’t be that guy.

    Bottling first wine

I use a solvent for cleaning electronics boards, it strips the glue off amazingly well. When that runs out white spirit works really well too but my girlfriend complains it makes the kitchen smell bad lol
