Any other piscetarian brewers out there?

Cultured meat that is something to ponder on. I only started this thread thinking someone would say..oh mate your missing out on blah blahs imperial stout or so and so's IPA. What a can of worms I've opened...I'll leave that for the meaties to devour.

Any other piscetarian brewers out there?

Wow some strong options there. It's quite ironic how I gave up eating meat. It all started many moon's ago when my college group had an "educational" trip to the Bass brewery at Burton as part of our plant reconditioning course. Our lecturer was a crap driver and chose to drive there using all...

Any other piscetarian brewers out there?

OK for starters I might have spelt it wrong but it's too early in the morning to be thumbing through a dictionary. Basically I eat fish and dairy products but not meat. I have done since 16 and I'm 51 now. I m not one of those tree hugging do gooders and I'm more than happy to do my bit on the...

    Retirement.

In my opinion retiring early is all down to saving early. Granted not everyone has the opportunity to save and I appreciate not all companies offer decent pension schemes but even the smallest amount you can afford to invest in AVCs will help you to leave the rat race that little bit earlier. I...

    Hangover Discussion

My advice is know your drink and know your limit. I rarely seem to get a hangover when drinking homebrew compared to commercial stuff, would be interested in other members opinion on why this is, I put it down to savouring the taste rather than tanking it down because you're stuck in a round.

    More of a reintroduction

Hi all I have been a member for quite some time but haven't posted for ages. I'm a member of a three strong brewing collective making mainly ales and wine but occasionally we make mead and elderflower champagne. Based in coventry would be great if anymore local brewers would like to join us for...

    Bottle Bombs

Think I’m going to empty them into a brewing bucket (good luck there!) make a batch of turbo cider and mix them together to make a “summer fruits cider”.....no carbonation required!

    Bottle Bombs

I have a similar problem with a batch of Wilko cab sav wine I made for the good lady. Made dozens of times before so really shocked when it shot out of the bottle like a shook up can of tizer. Had clearly finished fermenting (not sweet to taste) hydrometer reading steady, put stabiliser in, left...

    fruit cocktail syrup wine

Tight me.......so when I saw the kitchen staff at my school chucking out the syrup from the fruit cocktails, pineapple slices etc etc I thought I'd try doing something with it. Now the collection of source liquid is infinately variable so each brew is different, some nectar some rank, but...

    Beer engines and corny kegs.

Hi there, This may or may not be of any help at all but i brew from kits and have just acquired a free beer engine. I have a bottle shortage at the moment so tend to store the remains of brews in a demi john awaiting the second spoon of sugar for carbonation. Now I have the beer engine I...

    beer engine help please

I dont think mine is an Angram no distinctive plate or markings. The engine doesn't seem to be drawing at all put my tongue over end of pipe having took check valve off and unless it takes more than 10 or so cranks on the lever it was pull no vaccum.

    beer engine help please

Hi, I have just acquired a beer engine (no pipes, no fittings, no check valve) and tried connecting a pipe to it (the larger "fir cone" connector), plugging off the remaining smaller straight connectors (which i am led to believe are for a chiller). cadged a check valve from a plumber and...
