    Three Floyd's Gumball Head

I've first wort hopped a few times and found it gives a less harsh bitterness.

    Greg Hughes recipes

I'm brewing the Imperial Stout today. The grain bill is probably about the limit of what my Bulldog Brewer can manage for a 19l brew. Just about to start chilling but colour-wise it looks good already.

    Yaldi IPA

It's fine, about ten years ago I'd have thought this was incredibly hoppy.

Is two bottles of wine night every other day too much?

Brewing every 10 days or so on average? Good work!

    Lidl Greene King offer

I drank gallons of Banks's when I was building up my bottle bank! For a beer that pretty much defines "bog standard" it's really not bad, and makes a lovely bitter shandy on a summer afternoon.

    Three Floyd's Gumball Head

I've done extract and all-grain clones of this. It's very good. Pretty sure I used US-05 or BRY97, for an American wheat it's all about the wheat and hops, neutral yeast profile is what you want.

    Yaldi IPA

Well, this is now a thing - I've got two of them in my fridge for later...

    Lidl Greene King offer

Yeah, if you do a handful of brews then give up. If you brew for years the equipment costs add a negligible amount to your cost per pint. Even taking into account the hundreds I've spent on equipment in the last 5 years I reckon I'm at about 30p a pint. I also don't have to drink Greene King...

Brew: The Fool proof Guide to Making Your Own Beer at Home

You say that like it's a bad thing!

    Have i made an error?

I'm sure the beer's going to be fine, and it's another lesson learned!! What hops have you ordered with the grain?

I bottled the all grain version of this three days ago! It was beautiful straight from the FV, I'm looking forward to trying it when it's cleared and carbed up.

    Greg Hughes recipes

It's a slippery slope - I moved from kits to extract as I was never really happy with the outcome with kit beers. I bought a big stockpot and found this recipe for a clone of the Kernel's Double Citra IPA (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6q2GBHKZAxUX203SDhjeEJmZ2s/edit), and I was blown away...

    Carlsberg Marstons

You can still get original Ruddles County (after a fashion) - it's brewed to the original recipe as Grainstore Ten Fifty, and it's lovely - Ten Fifty | The Grainstore Brewery

    Carlsberg Marstons

Everards are in the process of moving to a brand new brewery / shopping park across the road from their old place. I pass it every day on the way to work.

    Carlsberg Marstons

Is that what happened? I keep seeing people on here saying Hobgoblin is good beer and I just don't get it at all, it's always been as bland as bland can be as long as I can remember.

    Carlsberg Marstons

Two pretty awful breweries joining forces - what could possible go right?

    Yeast slurry storage/reuse advice

I've repitched slurry that was 6 months old before with no problems, but I'm not sure I'd go as far as 12+ months without at least making a starter first.

    Trump has Covid.

I'd happily watch them in a fight to the death, as long as the winner was humanely destroyed afterwards too.

    Redundancies.

Nope. The new role has additional responsibilities that have allowed me to retain my current salary. I've been very, very fortunate. I did suggest everyone in the business forfeit a few per cent of their salary if it protected a few more jobs, but it was deemed to be impractical.

    Redundancies.

Just found out that under a COVID-caused reorganisation I'm not getting made redundant, I'm losing all my line management responsibilities and I'm moving into a more interesting role. Great for me, but awful for some of my colleagues who are going. What a ***** situation.
