    Thinking of starting again

Think it’s around 3/4 years now, I still remember everything I knew then (unless I’ve forgotten it.....) just wanted to take this time to get familiar with the process again, also his brew kit will need a good steam clean etc so time saved on weighing out grain etc is a bonus

    Thinking of starting again

Had a chat with my former brew buddy, he still has most of his brewing kit, so we are going to get together and knock out a biab at October half term ( he’s a teacher ) going to go for one of the hbc mash kits to keep it simple this time round

I’m a former personal trainer and strength coach and currently compete as a powerlifter so have some knowledge on this. Alchohol us thought to negatively effect test levels by oxidative damage and by increasing levels of cortisol (more with heavy drinking) alchohol is also responsible for...

    Christmas beers?

Anyone tried any Christmas beer kits? I've tried muntons winter warmer and that was decent, any others worth putting on soon for Christmas? Or are there other kits that you prefer to the Christmas ones for festive drinking?

    Thinking of starting again

I gave up brewing a few years ago, I was quite an active member on the site and some of you may have benefitted from me selling my equipment at some point 😂. I've missed brewing terribly, the issue is I tend to get obsessed with my hobbies, I'm a powerlifter and previously I ended up...

    Anybody a foster parent?

Yeh I doubt there are any official rules about it but obviously if the child comes from a background where alchohol was an issue with the parents it may be frowned upon? I barley drink anymore to be honest I just miss brewing on occasion. I like the idea of doing a few biab sessions a year, I'll...

    Anybody a foster parent?

That would be helpful, especially if they know of anyone that has had a similar experience

    Anybody a foster parent?

I stopped brewing a couple of years ago. I've been thinking of starting up again on a smaller scale than before. The thing is me and the wife are soon to apply to be foster parents and she is worried that homebrewing will hurt our application. If it will I will obviously put it on hold. I know...

    when to rack (no hydrometer)

interesting, the kit instructions suggest racking twice, once after 7 days to add finings and then again after clearing to degas

The mrs broke my hydrometer so im not sure when to rack my wine kit, got 2 6 bottle kits on. They started last sunday so been over a week but they are still bubbling very slowly, should i still rack? Or should all the visable fermentation be complete? First time doing wine so dont wanna crew it up.

    Advice before taking the plunge...

If you can do a beer kit you can do a wine kit, its pretty simple really you just need some different bits and bobs. Hope you enjoy your first brews.
