    Easter presents

Now that Easter is more like Christmas just wondered if anyone got an "Easter egg" present other than a chocolate one . I got a lovely Easter jigsaw from my wife.------6 boxes of laminate flooring and underlay that need to be assembled in the kitchen starting yesterday with stripping the old...

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

It's ta conundrum for the C of E they cannot deny gay people access to the church as they would lose a lot of their congregation but at the same time cannot be seen to condone active homosexuality. The compromise is that vicars are allowed to marry but be calibate so how is anyone going to...

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

Just thought I would round off this topic with a light hearted pun. Will the final person to take advantage of the Tesco good friday beer offer henceforth be known as the last supper?

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

Not sure they are even allowed to do it in greenhouses, too much visibility!

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

Yeah he is the same guy, he is very intelligent, quite funny and self deprecating telling everyone how good a time he had but you should not do the same, or maybe if you do then just don't tell anyone about it! I am a bit surprised at him being slightly offended by this minor issue. Some good...

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

His other half, or Husband is David Oldham, his also celibate gay partner. They have to be celibate to stay within the laws of the Church of England.

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

I just read the original post again and noticed that the complaint was raised by Reverend Richard Cole, vicar, broadcaster and celibate husband. That would be the same Richard Coles who was in the Communards back in the 80s and has written and spoke at great length about his excesses both...

    CAMRA members!

CAMRA promote real ale and even as a member I am partial to the the newer varieties of Keg ales particularly the NEIPA which are flooding the pubs at the moment. I join CAMRA to support their objectives for real ale but NOT at the exclusion of keg, there is room for both.

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

This is the part that I genuinely cannot understand, how it is disrespectful to advertise beer for sale to the MAJORITY of the country whilst having to figure if it is likely to upset a FEW zealots. It is not anti religious, stopping worship or calling anyone's beliefs into question to...

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

I don't understand how this is disrespectful at all! As previously stated the vast majority of the country are not so religious that they are offended by a supermarket trading and supplying them with a commodity that they want. Disrespectful suggests that EVERYONe has to take note of the...

Tesco has apologised for any offence from a beer advertisement

Without getting too heavy about this there are also a lot of people who may have been christened, do not follow the faith AND wouldn't mind a drink on Good Friday. Did it ever occur that Tesco may just have been pandering to this vast MAJORITY of people in the country. It is the people in a...

    CAMRA members!

Same here , £20 vouchers for a £16 fee plus quite a few pubs in Newcastle give 10% off for CAMRA members for cask ales. there is even one new micropub that gives 10% on ALL beers and wines but I am not going to be the one to tell him it should only apply to cask ales only. Access to...

when and when not to add

With a decent malt bill, bitterness up front I would add maybe at 10, 5 minutes and hops after flame out for a bitter but usually I would not dry hop this style. Maybe that's just me but I reckon you can get enough bitterness and spicy/earthiness from late hops depending on which type you like.

    Gotta New Job

I know what you mean , I used to work in the Pharma industry where everything is heavily regulated as you would expect we used to have Audits from FDA, MHRA, Brazil, Japan, Korea etc and it was constant stress trying to keep everything bang on. FDA were the worst as they are not chemists but...

    Parweld co2 regulator

I made beer and tried to keg it last week but first ran out of gas and then when filled had a leaky regulator so ordered a new Parweld regulator. I read somehwere that these can be difficult to set to 2-4 psi for serving so thought I may as well get a secondary instead or relying on the primary...

    Parweld co2 regulator

I like the look of the second one ODL regulator from EWLonline, looks like it goes up to 60PSI and will be back in stock next week so lots of time to brew some beer before I need to use it!

    Parweld co2 regulator

Thanks, Probably looking for a more robust 0 - 30 or 40 just in case I forget to set the primary low enough for serving.
