    Magnetic Drive Pumps

As far as I know, the outlet on any pump will always ( or should) be above the inlet, it stops air bubbles being trapped and possibly damaging the pump.

    RO Filters

The higher the pressure and the warmer the water the more efficient the R O unit will perform, infact the better units have a pump to increase the pressure.

    3kW AliExpress Element

Not much help to your question, but I've bought one after reading this post, but not yet fitted it, I'm still waiting for a couple of bits to arrive. What I will say is appears to be well made and of good quality. This is the one I bought, don't forget it's all plus vat on Ali Express DERNORD...

    Thermocouple advice needed.

Definitely stainless, and I'm confident I could waterproof fitting it, it's really the thermocouple itself. It's not so important inside a thermowell, plus it will have added protection. However, as I mentioned previously, I seen reports of loss of sensitivity and the thermocouple installed...

    Thermocouple advice needed.

I see some people having problems with the sensitivity of their PID sensors when using a thermowell. So the do away with the thermowell and install the thermocouple directly into the mash tun/boiler. Are the thermocouples waterproof? I have some that I would think not, but the photo shows one...

    Control panel help please.

I assume the ones that come with the inkbird do what they say on the tin? The one that has come with the Rex is marked as a Fotek 40amp, the supplier makes a big thing about not buying from other suppliers as they lie about the current capacity, of course i believe him. I was going to use it on...

    Control panel help please.

That's some reading!! I'll have to do it again to sink in. I'm not questioning the rights or wrongs, it's that I don't understand all of it so bear with me. They use 2 x 5.5kw elements, I will have 1 @ 2kw and 1 @ 3kw All of my switches are a minimum of 16 amps. I will have a switch that will...

    Control panel help please.

To be honest what I'm trying to do is not what I originally planned! I was going to just have the 3 part element with a voltage controller to one of the elements and on/ off switches to the others. This would give me variable power up to 3kw which I would manually control. Then I thought it...

I'm going to upgrade my brewing experience by moving away from my kettle elements in a plastic fv biab which will become my HLT to a 50ltr s/s mash/boil pot, brew in a basket. All under the watchful eye of a control panel. I'll be brewing in the garage, as oppose to outside the garage, and I'm...

    My Claim to Fame

Over 35 years ago I was skiing in Bulgaria, at that time it was a hard-line communist country. Me and wifey bought some new skis from the Atomic factory at a fraction of the cost they would have been at home. We also bought some Saloman bindings from the duty free coricom shop that you could...
