    Bottling

I'm a clumsy mo fo  so I cap after every half dozen but to answer your questions, I can't see why it would matter when you cap them, as long as you do. Iv got brews a year old that matured nicely, stored in a dark cool place, they are stouts and ales not sure how lager would go though.

Thanks all I am a kit brewer so I think il go the one can route. The boil method sounds interesting but must be a devil to take hydro readings. I'm putting this on at the weekend so if anyone has a more ideas I'm still interested. Rob.

    Drinkaware

Hi I know it's late and this is a strange question but I'm sober honest  I have a friend who has a very low tolerance to alcohol (long, medical story) but he likes a beer not a shandy, and asked me if it's possible to brew a low alcohol ale. He likes them dark and malty. I realise...

How to do a partial boil extract brew

Great stuff very informative. Il bet a pint someone will be along soon to comment on you connecting a hose to a mixer tap. Doh!!

Anything I need to know about the king keg top tap?

Hi I can only look on in jealousy :sulk: I'm a PB man, KK is a better quality barrel IMO top tap is handy as you don't pick sediment up easily, as for the cap I'd go s30 which I use. I find it more controllable and cheaper in the long run. Oh and the difference is s30 takes a hambleton Baird...

    Airlock Bubblers Help Please !!

I don't bother with air locks and I snap shut the lid all the way round as tight as possible, the lid bows but the Co2 always managed to escape. A truly air tight snap shut lid would be unusual

    carbonation lifting sediment when opened

I'm not sure your yeast will solidify much more after a week and a half, and I can't really comment on your priming as I don't know the quantities for cane sugar. I suspect your problem is it wasn't chilled!!! Put one in the fridge for 24hrs you should see a major difference.

    Too cold for the kit?

Hi Yes Iv done the occasional Golden stag :geek: (on my 5th) an unbiased opinion would be GS is my fav. It's got a slightly more pineapple/citrus aroma a vey clean refreshing brew. The IPA isn't far behind a slightly darker brew by comparison with the citrus aroma but a higher abv. Hope this...

    FGV still not ready

I wouldn't lift the lid for another week, take a hydro reading then, it might be close depending on your temps.

Lol sorry maybe it's a local term.... Gorilla bucket? Rubble bucket? Or as advertised in B+Q - Active black plastic 40l multi purpose bucket :hat:

    Coopers PET Bottles

Iv had no problems with PET at all either, except a minor hic up when I tried to dry them in a hurry with a hair dryer (wife's) I thought I was being very careful but 6 or so now look like they belong to John Merrick

    Too cold for the kit?

I'm a tight get and I use fish tank heater/water bath, wish I'd tried it first instead of a heat pad, it's far more controllable. (I noticed trugs are 2 for £6 today at bee and coo)

    Australian pale ale

It is!! That way your not praying for fermentation to finish at the same time as the dry hopping period. Rob.
