Mines been in the PB for just under 2 weeks now, I poured 1/2 a pint of it yesterday and it's clear and looks good....but still tastes rank?!! Almost like fruity mouthwash?! Hopefully it'll improve in the coming weeks as don't really want to chuck it away.

I've just made a Festival Old Suffolk Strong Ale kit and after I'd added the yeast I realised I hadn't checked the temperature which was showing 26c, it specifies that the yeast should be added when it's below 25c, I am using one of the stick on thermometers though so not sure how accurate it...

Mines been in the PB now for roughly a week, I had a taste yesterday and I really didn't like it, had a sort of fruity homebrew taste which I didn't like at all, it wasn't citrussy more other fruit, just hope it improves with age as I'm not looking forward to drinking 40 pints if it stays like that!

Cheers all, got myself a king keg top tap for £48, I've got a festival golden stag which I added 454g of golden syrup to plus some citra hops so that one will be christening it tomorrow. ;)

What's with the ****ing stars?!

I need to get another pressure barrel tomorrow and was just wondering if it was worth paying the extra £18 or so for the King Keg? I quite like the idea of having the tap further up the barrel so I don't have to move it every time I pour a pint but not sure if that reason alone warrants the...

Just had a pint of this after it's been in the PB for 10 days, purely for quality control measures obviously ;) and I have to say it's bloody lovely! If I'd bought this in a pub for £3.50 or whatever i'd be going back for another pint of the same, definitely be doing another one of these, going...

Thanks, I've actually transferred it to the PB now! I gave the hop bags a good squeeze to get all the goodness out, just got to play the waiting game now until it's ready, should be ok though as I've got about 18 pints of Golden Stag and 40 pints of Razorback IPA to tide me over! :)

My Evil Dog has been in the FV 2 weeks today, I put the hops in yesterday as it states to put them in 1-2 days before barrelling, the FG was down to 1003 from 1060 giving about 7.35%, I was just wondering wether to barrel it today as I've got time as a pose to tomorrow, do you think it would...

Just transferred mine to the Pressure Barrel, I ended up with a reading of 1004 so it works out at 5.9% so about 6% I guess now the priming sugar has been added and once it's stood for a few weeks, should be a good one. :)

From what I understand the longer the hops are in there the more the smell/taste fades, I'm pretty sure I read that if they're only in there for 2/3 days it will result in a stronger hopped beer as a pose to if they were in there for 5/6 days, I may be completely wrong but I'm sure I read that...

I added the hops to mine today, it's been in the FV now for 13 days and is now down to 1008 from 1050, I'm planning on only leaving the hops in for a couple of days and transferring to a PB on Sunday. It's been a really lively brew whilst fermenting and my FV is in a right mess! Looking forward...
