    Small introduction, and recipe ideas.

I assume the hop bag is for dry hopping? If so, it's not really necessary to boil your wort. Your extract will have already been boiled and bittering hops added. So basically, you just need to do a mini mash to extract the sugars from the grains. Just follow the instructions, although you could...

    Temperature control

Or buy an inkbird, it's worth the extra 20 quid not to burn your house down while you're asleep.

    What did you brew today?

Double brew day today: 1st was a Vacant Gesture all grain kit and a Timothy Taylor Landlord all grain kit, both bought from WHS. It seems to make it a quicker brew day if you don't have to weigh anything.

    Keezer temp setting

You're probably right, but it's really not that much of a problem. I just keep raising or lowering the setting on the inkbird as needed.

    Keezer temp setting

I drape it over the co2 pipes so it's suspended sort of mid keezer.

    Keezer temp setting

got mine set at 10c, but it creeps down to 7c for some reason. I just can't bring myself to set it at 13c though.

Our motorhome is 7.5m. I drive it to supermarkets or anywhere else we want to go when on holiday. There are plenty of places to park if you plan ahead, there's an app called park4night which lists where you can safely park (not just overnight). Our water is in an onboard tank, and we can leave...

Our 1st motorhome was a Talbot Highwayman 1988, it cost us £4000, very similar to yours. We're on our 4th now, an adria coral, which cost 10 times as much, but I still say that was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in (including the one upstairs). athumb..

Pressure barrel "O"-rings and food-grade grease

Top tap king kegs, the worst homebrew equipment I ever wasted my money on. They were invented by the devil (or CO2 producers). You can buy corny kegs for roughly the same price, they will revolutionise your homebrew experience and take up less space. Apart from that, yeah, vaseline is good stuff.

I'm a member, if you like beer festivals you can easily recoup your subs with the free, or discounted entries. They're more about campaigning to lower the tax on beer and saving pubs from closing now, than the actual beer (even though they relentlessly promote Wetherspoons which are the reason...

    Even Kelloggs are getting involved.

Shredded wheat can be used as a substitute for torrified wheat. There are plenty of recipes for cornflake whiskey online, and youtube videos. Tastes nice straight from the still, err... so I'm told.

    What are you drinking tonight.

My Harvey's Sussex Best clone. Probably the best I've ever brewed, very close to the original. This, I have decided, is now my house bitter. I'm going to get another batch going this week, this one won't last long.

    Hop Spiders are they necessary?

I've used one with my grainfather, it didn't make clean up any easier really. I didn't like the way the wort in the spider didn't seem to be boiling and I suspect it affected utilisation. Now I just use leaf hops, and never have any problems pumping the wort. I just have to remember to allow for...

Suggestions for British hops for dry hopping?

WGV? I always thought they were similar to EKG, but have pleasant fruity characteristics; rather than earthy as in EKG.
