Yes, it can be disabled, but lord knows how. I've never needed to.

They have an auto-off setting. Have you checked that?

I recently bought some similar for posting eBay stuff, and I'm very pleased with them. ABCON do many versions of this scale in the same housing, to cope with differing weights and accuracies. Would deffo recommend.

Vantage Vue, with the integrated sensor system. Also got a data logger which plugs into the back of the console, which 'releases' the data to the outside world.

I've been running a Davis Vantage Vue for about 5 years. After an initial 10 minutes set up, it hasn't missed a beat since. Worthwhile squeezing your budget a little higher if you can, or looking for a decent used example.

I have the same, which works really well. Only issue I had was a poor seal after a few weeks of use. I had used too much brute force and ignorance (I have plenty of both) in tightening the hinges after reversing the door, not allowing enough wiggle room for it to cope with temperature change...

Yes, I agree. Although I've not long resumed brewing, I'm currently restricted to one brew every couple of weeks due to space constraints. Ideally, this should become weekly to match my, and friends and family, consumption. Working on it!
