    Too cold to ferment?

There is enough space where the power wire for the heater goes in. I could not get a lid for the ferment vessel, it came from a builders yard :) Covid times, unable to shop around !

How to fix the manufacturers imperfections on a king keg neck

kelper You are De Man.. Just finished a very frothy and expensive in CO2 brew. The problem on examination was a leak on the "O" ring you mentioned. I could blow on the beer pickup tube and feel the pressure drop with the tap closed. I went to replace the "O" ring, I have a generous...

    Too cold to ferment?

I live in Scotland, it is always cold.. Ok freezing.. My room temperature for my beer is around 15C or 59F in old money. I have just started brewing again after decades away. I went back to what i did then, and use a tropical fish heater, set to 22C / 72F. On my second Brew of Ritchie`s...

    King Keg frothy beer

Well my first brew in the keg was a total success, apart from have excess froth in the ale. My pressures were low and i was going through a CO2 bulb every couple of pints. I read somewhere that lead length to the tap was often the problem. I added around 4 feet of tubing, resealed, pressurised...

    C02 Bulbs

For pressure testing, use a foot or bicycle pump on the schrader valve. (assuming you have one fitted!) Pump up to ~15 psi and douse diluted foamy washing up liquid around suspect joints.. Will cost a lot in CO2 bulbs to do otherwise.

How to fix the manufacturers imperfections on a king keg neck

That`s my problem too ! Very frothy beer, and I am not using high keg pressure, normally around 5 or 6 psi. I have had the lid off and increased line length to around 4 feet with absolutely no change in the excess froth. Looks like will have to live with the froth and check/replace the O ring...

How to fix the manufacturers imperfections on a king keg neck

Great solution, use bigger bulbs and I have the schrader valve already fitted. On my first brew with the keg, beer is superb but reckon I have a lid seal leak as going through 8gm bulbs. I dont want to got looking for the lid leak with beer in, but next brew will definitely check the surface of...

    Veteran Nooby

Thanks, just brewed a Ritchie`s Yorkshire Bitter kit and can say it is excellent, a realy good tasting ale ! Already I have had a problem with the blow off valve dropping pressure down to about 5 psi. So plan to fit a real pressure valve running at 10psi, (available on ebay) It takes the...
