    Help me fix my homebrew.

Hi, I've tried the current batch and seems OK to me. Obs still young but does need more flavour. So I'm thinking of adding more to the late boil which looks.like: 10g @15 9@ 5 20@ hopstand for 20mins 44 dryhop for 2 days

Moving to BIAB, what equipment will I need?

There is this calculator for biab https://biabcalculator.com/ If you find some recipes it will tell you what you need for no-sparge mash. When I started I swapped to small sparges to allow my mash to now overflow.

    Start if infection?

It's a mix of yeast and more sour than bitter. I'm going to try cold crashing a sample to get rid of the yeast taste.

    Start if infection?

I've gone to check my fermenter to prep for my dry hop later in the week but the beer hasn't cleared as I expect and has a 'odd taste' to it. I've had a quick look and it looks a little 'greasy' I'm not sure if this is infected? Assuming it is, I guess I need to bin the plastic fermenter, tap...

    AG/PG advice needed

I used a 11l asda stock pot to do 5l batches (they still do a 25l one for £25 https://groceries.asda.com/product/saucepans-stockpots/george-home-silver-stainless-steel-stock-pot/1000383183092) Which could get tight at times in headroom. If you have an idea of what recipe you want to do there is...

Are the hop amounts for 24l? I do think I'll re-look at the additions, I'm not 100% convinced that I need to bother. But feels a simple thing to do. I think i need to look at the sparge and time in the ferementer. Ill probably reachout once it's done.

    Help me fix my homebrew.

Hi Nick, Thats one comprehensive reply :) It was ACB that ive taken the feedback from. Are PET really that bad? I thought they would have been ok - unless the top wasnt fully on - exp as theres less risk of breakages. I think I've still got another brew that I have both in and do a blind...

    Help me fix my homebrew.

Your right, but at the same time it's about improving too. Imo the beer was ok, but still needs improving. I have given bottles to friends, 1 has said its amazing (I don't believe them), 2 has said it was ok, the other 2 have not told me what it was like...

    Help me fix my homebrew.

Yer I suspect that it's not the only issue but won't help. I use a plastic fermenter but don't open it if I don't need to. Some air will get when I open the tap to grab a sample to test the grav.

    Help me fix my homebrew.

Just looked at the fermenter and the krausen has dropped already, which got me thinking - could over pitching cause any of these issues? Although brewfather says to use 1 packet of heast the calc actually says use 7g which is half a packet....

Sorry missed this. Its a 60 min Boil, and 3 days is 3 days from botteling. e.g. day 11 from the start of fermentation on a 14 day fermentation.

The gran will be a few months old (crushed) sealed (probably not air tight) stored in a plastic box in a cold damp celler. I've got fresh grain for this brew, though probably a month old but still sealed from geb.

    Help me fix my homebrew.

Ophs I cut that part of, its brewed to English golden ale - aiming for a nice refreshing summer drink :) All were bottled (I don't keg), I think the only posable difference was I might have sent plastic bottles and drank out of glass ones. I tried a bottle the same day as the comp, though mine...

    Help me fix my homebrew.

Hmm looking at this. I guess I do ferment in an old fridge that needed a bit of cleaning up. But seems clean. The fermenter was new too as the old one didn't seal and all brews I did in it were oxidised:( I do store my grans in the celler so it possable they were not 100%

    Help me fix my homebrew.

So I've decided to re-brew the last recipe I brewed to try to improve my process. Although I thought it was ok , unfortunately it I did get a poor score from the comp I entered it into. So I've pulled the last score sheet out to remind myself what was said (in short): Issue 1: - Aroma...
