    just taken a reading of the WOW and its at 990 and tastes very dry, but its looking good (still very dark) Just racked it off to a clean DJ. I doubt there's any point in put stabilizer into it at that low reading? Will degass over the next day and add some finings. For now only have the wilko...

    Had a few of these with a BBQ, wow they were very good, you'd pay good money in the pub for it. Neighbors enjoyed it so happy days have to do this one again

    I thought about 140g would be good. Thanks for the info. Bottled today into a mixture of 330, 500 & 950ml bottles and its as cloudy as chuff, lets hope it settles out.     Started this off on the 29th May using 1kg brewing sugar & 500g of light spray malt and brewed short to 21ltrs. SG was 1.044. I used the yeast in the kit and have had it in the brew fridge at 18c. On day 14 i'll take it out of the brew fridge and put on the garage floor and bottle 2 days...

    OMG! Had a BBQ with some friends and let the ladies have a taste of the the wilko ROSE they loved it and I've only got one bottle left!!!! Higher authority says I'll have to do a few more....we'll happy

    I followed the recipe and added 750g Tate&Lyle. I can add 50g more? Its bubbling away nicely Next time I'll check the sugars in the cartons

    Ah that's where I went wrong, I looked in the general fruit juice aisle. Will know for next time. So the first WOW is done, using 1ltr 100% Red Grape Juice from concentrate(sugar on carton says 15g per 100ml),1.5ltrs 100% Apple Juice from concentrate( sugar on carton says 9.2g per 100ml), all...

    Just back from Sainsburys...unsupervised! Got the Red Grape Juice & Apple Juice, Sugar, some beer and a bottle of Jamesons :laugh8: When I was in Wilko last I picked up a couple of the Wine yeast sachets, I assume they'll be good for this? Will start my first WOW tomorrow

    Day 15. FG 1.008 so have batch primed the Wherry and bottled up. Got 44 bottles now in the beer fridge @ 20c. Had a cheeky test and it tastes nice but is quite sweet. Hopefully time will make it a good one. Will update in a month or so. On to the next one

    Watched the videos and it looks a real simple process. Went to ASDA but they didn't have any grape juice and only reduced sugar apple juice!. May go to Sainsburys tomorrow Am I looking for 100% juice and is 100% but from concentrate ok?

    purely for research purposes I had a try.....tasting pretty good, no twang or funny tastes. So sanitizing, temp (glad i built the beer fridge) all good and with the two packets of yeast it did get stuck. Might not last too long after bottling!:smallcheers:

    Been 10 days in the FV, took a reading which was 1.008 and looks really clear in the trial jar. Will leave it until Monday (which will be 14days) and take another reading

    Fermentation has started and is extremely lively! a very small amount of beer has blown through the air lock and was on the lid. Cleaned it all up and pulled the airlock out of the bung a bit as had it pushed in as far as I could and topped it up. Might need to look at the blow off setup Temp...

    Took a reading today and at 20c its 1.004 Instructions say 998 to 995 so I'll move to the brew fridge in the bat cave. Re-check on Monday or add the stabilizer & finings now???

    Temp in Garage

    All setup and the testing with the probe just hanging in the fridge made for wild fluctuations Have put it in a bowl of water and adjusted the setting (especially the compressor time). Testing is looking good Only con of the inkbird is that the cable to the double socket is very short
