Well, 3 and a half weeks in and am having a trial bottle (having only bottled on Saturday). It's a little harsh as expected given it's only had 4 days conditioning :laugh8:. But all the signs are pointing to this being glorious given another week or two athumb..

I've got a second batch of this on the go now. Last time I dry hopped in a bag, going to lob them in this time and hope we have a cold night :laugh8: One week in and we've dropped to 1.022, so far so good! No airlock activity though, but as long as it's doing something it's all good.

Might have a look into those bags! Have 30g worth of citra saved now from the kit ready to use as and when. In the meantime I grabbed a Young's AIPA kit to tide me over. Done and in the FV within 30 minutes. And no tap disasters athumb..

One week later, this is glorious! As good as anything I've had in a while off draft and bottle. Granted its had an extra 100g of hops but for a kit this is genuinely superb and better than the Young's AIPA imo. (However I did bag the hops in that one which did have an affect). £30 well spent!

Thrilling update. Bubbling away nicely again now. With a bit of luck I can get the dry hops in for a good few days before the next cold snap hits and can cold crash it before racking off. (Oh for a brew fridge.....)

ItsI my first experience with MJ but see any reason why not. Still waiting for mine to take off, but yeast does seem active, has spread over the top and smells, well, yeasty! Pitched mine dry so expecting a slight delay.

Had a few bottles tonight, almost the same as yours bar a few more days in the outbuilding and a night in the fridge. Just like yours it has mellowed out lovely. Might lack the hippy punch of say a Punk IPA but really impressed!

Mine was rather bitter thinking about it. Put that down to the lack of conditioning rather than anything else. Though was very drinkable. Might give another one a try in a moment for the sake of research.....

So my taste test today. For a kit, 10 days conditioning in, this is brilliant. A lovely tropical smell, clean bitter taste with a hint of malt coming through (and not in the kit way). 33 Pet bottles and one Easy keg. Very decent return! At almost 7% I won't get through this in a hurry (though...
