British Hop Bomb Beers

This lovely offering from Moor suggests their beer is 'showcasing modern English hops ' in this IPA. It isn't a massive hop bomb as such and I've no idea what they use, but it is rather nice! [/IMG]

    New selection at morrisons

Weve got a little written piece on some of the beers now in Morrisons if anyone's interested.. http://plusonemagazine.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/lost-in-supermarket-beer-review.html

    Street party brew...

First time I've adjusted a recipe so bare with me but yes, completely agree. Don't want to provide a hop bomb for those delicate lager/wine consumers. Or a beefy 5% + either. Bringing down the initial boil hop and the grain bill. More like an OG now of 1043, ABV of 4.5 and IBU of 43. Sound good?

    Street party brew...

Doh. Of course. Read it wrong didn't I? That's more like it!!!

    Street party brew...

Just put these into brewers friend but seems way up in the IBUs. (97) . Think there's something amiss with these figures maybe.. 54g of hop at boil 27g at 55 minutes 27g at 65 minutes 83g at end of boil. (I added when temp was below 80)

    Street party brew...

So, all grain brew no.5 needs to be a tasty belter! I planned to go all Amarillo as I've got the hops already to use up. And we've just been asked to get involved with a street party where we live, which basically means make and take beer Pete! I have done an amarillo pale before and it was...

    British Hop Bomb Beers

That's a good shout Notlaw. Most of my favourite well hopped beers I seem to happen across are US hop fed too. Indeed my brews this far in have been made with hops from across the pond.

    What's your music taste like?

Always seeking out new stuff. Have a blog and a small team of writers reviewing albums and gigs (Plus One Magazine). On a personal note, it's usually very noisy but quite varied. The band's I tend to love are often thought as a bit obscure I guess. In no particular order or genre here goes...

Whats the next stage I can do???...

I would get the necessary equipment together that you need to brew it from scratch (All grain). Read up as much as possible and get some simple brews on the go and under your belt . You'll make mistakes but likely to still produce a fine drinkable beer that's all your own work! I'm only on my...

    Different brews, different views

This Moshi Moshi clone is almost ready to bottle. Great colour and smells fantastic. Just dry hopping currently with 3 different hop varieties. It doesnt seem to be the 'cleanest' beer though. Ive racked into a secondary for dry hopping. Quite a lot of bits and lumps still knocking about in...

    FV in Metal/Rock/Reggae/Rap/Pop ENVIROMENT?

I guess they'd only be picking up GOOD VIBRATIONS 🙈

    Galway Bay Brewery

We had them over at Leeds International Beer Festival last year. Their ' Of Foam And Fury' has to have been one of the best beers I have ever tasted!

    Super Hoppy Stout

Nothing similar, yet. My stout wasn't hop laden that I did last year but turned out well. My Mikkeller milk stout I've just done has very minimal hops in too . Be interested to hear how this turns out and tastes!

    Early morning crew.

A driver also. Out of the house by 6, work at half past, finish about 2. Love the afternoons to get stuff done or just chill. Also the quiet roads at that time of a morning.

    Different brews, different views

As I thought, thanks. Didn't want to disturb it yet. Taking a first reading later. Recipe does call for 3 days dry hopping. Suspect it will have gone by next week anyway but if not, dry hop in this primary or transfer to a secondary, then dry hop? Bottling after that btw.

    Different brews, different views

...of the fv when fermentation is in progress. Took a peak after day 5 and the Krausen is still pretty hefty as you'll see... On my last 4 brews it has all but disappeared by now. I moved the whole fv just a little, it statrted to break and bits fell down. What I'm asking is, is this...

    Good old bottling day

    Amen to that!

    Learning curve

I am fly sparging yes. And yes I'm trying to copy the recipe as near as dammit so was Looking for the gravity rather than the volume. I presume because I had to stop sparging at 990 and hadn't achieved quite enough litres, that the extraction wasn't quite good enough. And that's why my figure...

    How often do you brew?

I told myself Id do one a month at the turn of this year. Wish things were that simple! Time and lack of funds put pay to that but just done my second of the year at the weekend and hopefully one a month here on in!

    Learning curve

So should I have topped up instead of falling short? Despite the BG being way off, the OG came in at 1050 which is almost there for this recipe. Bubbling away nicely anyway.
