    Commercial IPAs

There are absolutely shed loads of great IPA's out there. Guess I'm spoilt here in Leeds as we have some excellent independent craft beer retailers around. If you only have the high street supermarkets to go at, maybe an internet order is the way forward. There are so many beers I could...

Couple of questions on the monthly comp...

I'm sure the answers to these are somewhere on the forum so apologies. Can anyone direct me to them if so or just a quick reply here? I'm submitting to the pale category this month. I have the judge's address. 1. regarding labels, can I attach a tag style around the necks of the 2 bottles...

    This forum...

Well said you. I often check in just to see what beer related gubbins are being chatted about. When I post a question or just a happy personal brew achievement (or error), the responses are always positive and helpful. Cheers to us!

    Rye IPA

I forgot about this one of Brew Dogs. Yes it is a nice drink I've had it. Had the DIY download for a while just never thought to look. I did their Moshi Moshi which turned out lovely. Like you I would be happier at a lighter version of this . Bit hefty for my tastes at 9.2% to drink a lot...

Has anyone got a tried and tested recipe for a rye beer? I love the spice and tang of rye. How much to use etc? Currently drinking a lovely IPA by Odyssey Brew Co.

    Brewers friend. Discount?

Having reached AG brew no.8 I've finally seemed to have got results I was aiming for (volumes, gravitys etc). Brewers friend has been invaluable and I've wacked 5 of my recipes in there to help me. It seems to do the trick for me and I know there are a lot of similar helping sites/apps out...

    Buying labels for beer bottles

Cheers everybody . I'm totally with the point regarding the contents of the bottle over the label. I get that. Just wondered what to do for the competition as a label is required and haven't done any as yet. Also, no harm in being creative for thoughts further down the line but I'll probably...

    Buying labels for beer bottles

Anyone recommend purchasing from anywhere particular? cheap! I've bottled my first seven AG brews but only written on the caps in a marker. Now with the competitions looming and brewing for them I need to start labelling which I should do anyway. All ideas welcome. .😎

    Racking beer before bottling

Definitely is a personal preference thing. As some have said, some do and some dont. I havent with most and did with just one. Didnt really see any need afterwards although that particular beer was by far my best. Not necessarily to do with racking into a second fv though

    Leeds International Beer Festival

Just wanted to pop this in here as this event is absolutely terrific. Been for the last couple of years and the whole thing is far and beyond a usual beer festival. Anyone who lives in or near to Leeds should grab a ticket for a session soon. They will sell out very soon. Especially Fri and Sat...

    Citra lovely Citra

I do yes and that's not a bad idea. Should make an IPA really so can enter it into the comp! Did their Moshi Moshi and was my best turned out brew so far. It's very low on the hops in this recipe. Any idea why some of brewdogs call for such little hops initially ? In this case just 2.5g at...
