Home brew online order and delivery issues Hermes

Well if it was weeks ago, I'd certainly raise issue with HBO, as whilst I agree it's not directly their fault, you've still not received the goods and which side should be responsible for that and chasing it up?. I'd assume that such deliveries are tracked (of sorts) and insured (or sorts) if...

    Post Brexit food standards,,,

The only thing we can all agree on is nobody knows for sure what will happen afterwards, in 1 year, 3, 5 or 10 years time. When we first went for our mortgage a little over a year ago the bank told me there there is no financial or otherwise projection, guess work or otherwise on where the UK...

    Spoons.

I do think their has to be a practical rethink as far as the pub grade goes. I'm not saying it's the pubs that's are directly responsible in any way (as clearly bad & very bad parenting is the blame). But on the other hand with the way society is these days with regards to poor & bad parenting...

    So who's growing chillies 2020?

Funny enough, I've some seeds from a few years back, half tempted to see if I can find them after moving house last summer and get em started under light. Seeds in theory shouldn't have a best before or used by date yet they do. But they should still work without issue.

    Show us your brew space/Bar

My space is even more limited, confined more to the kitchen with part of the utility room for fermenting.. Though having moved house last summer I've a few options long term both indoors and out (if I can shed-o-rize a good chunk of the back yard. But having a spare bedroom & a big loft that...

Then I stand corrected, of sorts. But the way I've seen things the EU has hardly been open to "negotiations" in the last few years for a real deal on leaving. And I don't see any post leaving trade arrangements being any different. As everything will I feel be more beneficial to the EU as a...

Of cause, the ill informed do gooders (and political people who don't care as they have a political agenda) would say "blame the government", "blame the cuts" " blame closure of x, y & z" etc etc. Sorry, I blame bad parenting far above any other reason anyone could give. We owe society to be...

Yes, NEVER see the sort of behaviour from families in other countries as we do here in the UK & that's shamefull for us as a nation but more such families who as uneducated adults and mindset have the next generation being even worse. These days there is such a sense of entitlement from this...

Another thing I've noticed is that as spoons have started serving food later & later (pretty much till half hour before closing here) so has the cutt off time children are allowed entry till become later & later.

A fine way of putting things. Though where the Netherlands not 1 of 2 or 3 other countries at the time we voted to leave the EU also considering holding such a referendum of there own?. And if some countries have gone public about touting a referendum of their own membership in the last few...

    Marmalade IPA?

Lol don't know how they extracted the flavour with little heat but they did. Should have asked really as I'm putting Scotch Bonnet in my next IPA. Thinking maybe 3 whole fresh chillies boiled in a pan for 10 mins with the mix in the fv & chillies in a hop sock for the entire fermentation...

Maybe it's down to individual management then who might better judge the demographic of customers?. But I guess they would still have to go via head office to implement such a policy. The spoons by us doesn't have such a policy, but then again it doesn't (that I've noticed) have an issue with...

    Spoons.

I recall several years ago on holiday a spoons in Scotland would only allow us to buy 2 drinks as we had the little one with us, So it's been something that's been going on a while. Now whilst I fully support this (though it won't ever stop people going the next pub) it does make me think why...

    Marmalade IPA?

I've had a Scotch Bonnet ale which was lovely, had a great flavour with not so much heat to mention. And I've also had a bloody hot Carolina Reaper stout, also nice but the heat was strong, but guess that's the point with the Reaper.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

A bit of my Coopers Irish Stout. Somewhat flat now but still drinkable so making the most of it whilst it remains drinkable.

    Kegarator

Well taking the moulding off the under counter fridge was a bigger job than I thought, the bugger just didn't want to come off and had to rip it off in small bits in the end. What I thought would be a quick 30 min job turned into a 2 hour job!!!. And that seriously ate into my homebrew...

    S30 cap leaking...

Also worth noting that these pressure barrels only hold about 10PSI I gather. And this is barely enough to lightly carbonate and just on dispensing pressure, ok serving pressure less an issue on pressure barrels as you dispense via a tap of cause. Anyway, from my experience with them even...

    Marmalade IPA?

Then it's likely orange peel with certain hops that I've had with marmalade beer in the past then. Guess it's wrong to assume as it had "marmalade" in the name that it contains actual marmalade over selected ingredients to give a marmalade flavour. And in looking, my local home brew store...

    So who's growing chillies 2020?

All the time with mine last year as otherwise to tall and leggy. It does encourage outward growth that way and supposedly more fruit which to be honest whilst not a great harvest last year was still better due to pinching.

    Marmalade IPA?

I've an IPA kit here that I'm toying with favouring with a hint of chilli whilst adding extra (likely Citra) hops. Knowing that adding dry chillies to the kit prior to pitching yeast is not a good idea and would not be nearly as affective. I'm thinking boil the chillies for 5 mins with the...
