    Corny Keg newbie advice please!

No, they have food grade also, they may have to order it in for you. As for the deposit, it is what it is. You hand the bottle back, you get your deposit back. You keep it you don’t. You just pay for refills. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Barrell deep clean

I take it you’ve taken the tap off and bleached along with all your seals and lid. If you have then I think there is something wrong with either your siphon or pipework. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Barrell deep clean

I’ve connected a piece of pvc pipe on onto the Barr tap, fixed a barbed to 3/8 JG fitting then 3/8 pipe to a non return valve and then to the beer engine. No air is returned to the keg and you get hand drawn cask (ish) beer in the glass. I serve mine through a sprinkler which gives you a nice...

    Barrell deep clean

I find VWP, one teaspoon to a litre of hot water, half fill the barrel leave it for 12 hours shaking it a few times over that period then turn it upside down on top of a fermenting bucket ( I have a waste paper bin) and leave it there for 12 hours shaking periodically. Sorted, rinse then use. I...

Not all wagon drivers are idiots.

I agree totally. The truck overtaking is always right to do so. In times past, the driver being overtaken would just dip his brake or turn off his cruise control for a few seconds and let him past but now with the influx of ‘other’ drivers, and a general lack of common courtesy in today’s day...

Not all wagon drivers are idiots.

I now drive a truck for a living and believe me in the 2 1/2 thousand miles I drive in a week, apart from the constant road closures due to roadworks and speed cameras set at 40 for no reason, the biggest pain is CAR drivers cutting you up cause they miss their junction. Car drivers driving at...

Are you proud to be English.

I am proud to be English and indeed British. I have served queen and country in war and in peace and I am very proud of the difference I and soldiers serving with me have made. I come from a long line of soldiers and sailors in my family and we have all served in various countries for various...

    Hydrometer reading confusion

The best thing you can do is get a trial jar and a turkey baster from Wilco’s sanitize and rinse them and get some of the wort from the bucket in the jar and measure without the foam. Then you’ll know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    s30 inlet rubber seal replacement

Use snipe nose or needle nose pliers and hold them open while placing it over the valve. Put some petroleum jelly on the seal as well. You can be quite brutal with the seal, it’s very robust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    GrainFather bottled beer problem.

Only three beers in on the Grainfather and the only problem I’m having is my flameout hops are not giving me the flavour or aroma I desire. Can’t explain why. Although I keg I don’t bottle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What are you drinking tonight.

Tbh the shop is on its last legs I think. For all grain it’s not the best although I do get sacks of pale malt there. I get the impression they are thinking of closing. I could be wrong but they just aren’t well stocked at all. Ok for the odd yeast or seal for my barrels, but other than that...
