    Bubbling for longer

Hi guys, so have a pale ale fermenting away. 1060SG and pitched a packet of dehydrated s04 7 days ago. Kept the tempreture at 19oc apart from the first day when it rose to 24oc but I quickly cooled it down. It's been sitting on a thermostat controlled heat pad and the airlock is still bubbling...

    Klarstein v's Burco setup

Being honest availability was a factor. Geterbrewed had them available and had a video reviewing it. Also a YouTube video by pubshed I think were happy with it. I liked the tutorial guides from brewelution themselves as well. For me the price of £350 was within budget as well. I couldn't justify...

    Safale s-04

Yeah seen the recommend temps on the packet, gonna move it outside now

    Safale s-04

So I've got my cascade pale ale fermenting away, the airlock started bubbling away after 8 hours. Pitched the dehydrated yeast at 21oc and 12 hours in the tempreture has raised to 24 inside the bucket. Room temp is 19oc Does anyone have any experience of this yeast at 24oc ? I'm assuming that...

    Higher OG than recipie

Consistency is key I suppose, when I was doing BIAB years ago I was all over the place. The beacon is a great machine so hopefully this is the start of something good

    Higher OG than recipie

I did crush my own grain as well, immediately before brewing so maybe that has helped as well

    Higher OG than recipie

That's what I'm hoping for. If this one ferments down to 1010 then that's close to 7% abv. I only really want to make session beers around the 4-5% mark so looking forward to being more accurate

    Thanks very much guys

    Higher OG than recipie

One packet of yeast will still be enough though wont it ? I used safale s-04

    Higher OG than recipie

I've no idea, I only just got the unit and before this I was doing BIAB but that was 5 years ago. How do you work out efficiency?

    Higher OG than recipie

Yeah, by 10 gravity points, which seems excessive, should I have thinned it down maybe after the boil ? 20 litres is fine for my bucket size

    Higher OG than recipie

4.7kilo pale malt and 240 grams carapils

    Higher OG than recipie

Hi guys so I brewed the greg Hughes cascade hop ale today in my brewster beacon. The OG of recipe was 1050 but I came out with 1060. I used the exact amount of grain, mashed for 60 mins, mashed out at 75 for 10 minutes. Mashed in 20 litres and sprayed with 4 litres, so at the end of the boil I...

    Klarstein v's Burco setup

Brilliant piece of kit. The mash temp holds steady and it comes to a rolling boil quickly. It feels solidly made and very straightforward to clean. Very happy with it and geterbrewed delivery was prompt and well packaged

    Klarstein v's Burco setup

I had ordered a klarstein maischfest on the 4th of January this year and because of Brexit they said the delivery was 40 working days, so I was expecting it around the 1st of march. I emailed on the 1st of march and they said it might be dispatched in the next two weeks but they couldn't...

    Jumping yeast

So my new mangrove Jack's heat pad and thermostat arrived and I've set it 21oc and placed a 5 litre glass demijohn containing an all grain ipa on top of it. It's been fermenting for 13 days now so was hoping to heat it up for the last few days before bottling and small clumps of yeast are now...

    Heat belts and pads

Cheers guys, I've went for the mangrove jacks heat pad and controller from the home brew shop

    Heat belts and pads

That's my worry of buying one and it raises the temp to 28 without me monitoring it when I'm work
  19. B

    High final gravity

So I've swirled and given it two days but no movement on the fg. Could it be as simple as that's as low as I'm going to get it and bottle it anyway ? It doesnt taste overly sweet although when I tasted it from the trial jar, it was slightly fizzy, any idea what that could mean ?

    Heat belts and pads

Hi guys, quite simply wanting to know if heat belts and pads are any good ? I've seen them for around £20 on a couple of home brew shop websites which seems pretty cheap. Do belts distribute heat evenly and is it ok that the pads sit on the bottom underneath the all the trub ? Also they dont...
