    i have a biab lager fermenting away (lager malt, flaked maize and some vienna malt) its sitting at 16oc, bubbling away nicely so i guess its a waiting game. cheers guys

    hi guys, has anyone used the mangrove jacks workhorse yeast ? im a bit reluctant to use it because it says "suitable to ferment all lager styles at 15 to 20 oc and all other beer styles at 20 to 32 oc". this yeast seems like its too good to be true, surely it cant do what it says on the packet ...

    hi mate, as far as im aware more sugar just means a higher abv, i don't think plain sugar has any effect on flavour, maybe brown would but im sure there is more expierianced guys on here who would be more sure about their advice

    yeah ive bought another demi john and have another one fermenting away, i had a coopers heritage lager kit before and my first was youngs pilsner, both decent kits but was looking to move up, will probably do another kit too just to keep the stockpile up. cheers for the advice mate

    cheers markm, the brew was a one gallon biab with lager malt, flaked maize and a mangrove jacks bohiemen lager yeast. ive got 6 bottles from it and this is gonna be my setup for a while as i dont have space for a full all grain brew.

    i read somewhere that kilner jars with the rubber seals work pretty good, i dont a have a freezer so tried this way. three weeks in and they look and smell just fine
