    Freezing wort

Even when it's sanitized prior to filling? Sure you can have wort sitting in a bucket for 24+ hours before fermentation starts.

    Freezing wort

So my cube is definitely 30l. Got 23l into it and even after a squeeze it has a fair bit of headspace in it. I ain't going to lie in saying I got a bit scared moving it around after I closed it up. It got fairly soft after I put the wort in (90C). Turned it around a bit so that every side got...

    Help with equipment purchase please.

I have a BZ 3.1.1 and I think it's great. I have no intentions of upgrading until it gives up the ghost. You would probably get a great price on a bundle kit now with the Gen4 out for a while now.

    Freezing wort

I've done a bit more reading on it and it seems to be a thing in a temperature band below boiling and above pitching temp. It probably has next to no effect on the homebrew scale because I would imagine that I introduce far more aeration during the mash in that temp range (I stir 1, 2, even 3...

    Freezing wort

Thanks. I'll do my best not to scald myself 😝 Wall & tennis ball sounds good. Keeps one arm free.

    Freezing wort

My cube arrived today (could only find a 25l but was happy enough) and a 30l (advertised as 25l) was delivered. Will that much headspace have an affect of the wort? I brew for kegging and normally have 23l-ish into my fermenter. I've seen some videos were people speak about hotside oxidation and...

    Overnight Mashing ?

That's what my plan was but I'm just going to go with no chill.

    Overnight Mashing ?

Yeah, the more I've been reading about it over the last few days I think I'll pass on it. It would save me just over an hour. I'm starting into 'no chill' now so that claws the time back.

    Overnight Mashing ?

Do you recirculate the entire mash?

    The Barge

The promise of a better life. It seems to be an ever increasing amount of these guys are making the journey for economic reasons and not fleeing war, persecution, etc. Unfortunately, Western & Northern Europe can't host even a fraction of the people coming.

    The Barge

No, not all are bad (I'm sure very few are) but you can't just let anybody and everybody just enter a country. Otherwise what is the point having a country?

    The Barge

I was referring to my point that the police could have easily defused the situation in Newquay but you know that. Yes, I got it wrong about Newquay (attacker is still to be caught in fairness) but am I wrong about Skegness? No, so my point in my post you quoted stands also. Letting people that...

    The Barge

My point still stands. It's weird for the police to say he wasn't a resident of the hotel rather than he simply wasn't a refugee. Poor girl. I see the case against him got thrown out.

    Reasonable priced keg washer

I was having a look around and I seen the bucket blaster is about 2000l/h and similar Chinese ones are about 50W. I'm surprised your pump hasn't your AR halfway back to Oz 😂 Cheers for the info. The CIP ball sounds much better than just a few holes drilled at the end of some pipe.

    The Barge

Not sure what is so funny. The D&C police statement just says that he wasn't a resident of the hotel. I wonder why they didn't declare that he wasn't an asylum seeker?
  17. MrJay83

    The Barge

Their statement doesn't say that and the police in all fairness are great at telling half-truths.

    The Barge

Wasn't the guy arrested and charged?
  19. MrJay83

    The Barge

Obviously not all but some are doing far worse (Skegness & Newquay as recent examples) and when people arrive here with no documentation they shouldn't be allowed to wander freely amongst the public. It's not racist, xenophobic or whatsoever to expect the government to protect our wives...

    The Barge

Behold the the more civilised French solution. I'd rather be on the barge going on day trips and having a nice place to sleep.
