    Marcus Rashford becomes MBE

Fine, go live in a communist country that espouses the truly egalitarian approach. North Korea or Venezuela spring to mind. People have choices. The state can intervene when things get critical but like it or not if the feral underclass prefer to spend their money on **** and booze and give...

Fair comment - I'm still a human being with my own values and standards. I can deal with a situation objectively but still be annoyed with people. I'm at odds with your comment about making it my leisure activity. I'm spending a few minutes on 'soshal meeja'. I'm responding to questions. I...

We appear to agree. I am happy that any confusion has been sorted.

I don't have time to wonder why people are where they are and it's not my job. I deal with the 'now'. I go to them when they are in danger, or hurt, or fighting (with themselves or others). I would love to be able to solve the problems of the world but I can't. I'm just the last resort. The...

How? The welfare system supplies funds to parents in order to feed their children. Explain how I contradict myself.

I see lots of low income families and almost without exception; The parent(s) smoke and drink - the ones without children do little else. Frequently one or other uses other chemicals/herbal substances They have the latest mobile phone No matter how squalid the (tax-payer funded) flat, there...

What kit beer are you drinking tonight?

I'm currently 'multi tasking'. I have a snoot of Jonny Walker Black (£10 off in T***o with a Clubcard) being raised to Absent Friends and Fallen Comrades and my Directors. The JW is just fine. The Directors is 'a work in progress'. One of my abiding memories of the early 80s (apart from a...

    Guns

The standard AK-47 in 7.62 short was perfect for what it was meant to do. Reliable and easy to use and maintain and reasonably accurate out to 300m. Interestingly I had a play with a Finnish assault rife and it was essentially the Kalashnikov action but better engineered. A very nice piece of...

British Summer Time officially comes to an end.

I remember the experiment between 68-71 (when I was 3-6) where the clocks stayed on BST all year round. We were all given reflective armbands to wear on our school coats because it was so dark in the morning.

    Guns

Crikey, all I did was put up a picture of what was the standard service weapon for the Army during the first part of my service. A weapon that the who used it remember fondly and which I was quite good with.

    Guns

I shot at school (England Schools) and then for the Army. I had a 7.62 target rifle but was always happier with combat weapons. I've shot a wide range of rifles and pistols from various countries. Favourite pistol wold be a Sig, favourite small weapon, Uzi or MP5 and favourite rifles SLR and...

Suggestions for burn out / disinterest

Mojo comes and goes. I barely touched beer for two years and didn't brew at all. Slowly my taste has returned and I'm back to brewing. I'd say don't sweat it. Find something else to fill the time/gap and the wheel will turn back round once again.
