I thought I'd start a thread regarding suppliers of gas at decent prices.
I spent ages calling around suppliers in and around Wigan/Chorley after prices skyrocketed - in many cases seemingly double or 2.5x those 12 months ago.
Anyway, that leads me to Tygas in Bury. 6kg/10l Co2 at £19.60 for...
Over Xmas I visited both Wilko's at Bolton Middlebrook and Preston (nr Deepdale I think) as I wanted light DME. Not a single homebrew item (beer or wine) in either and no attempt to fill the gap with anything else.
I'm more surprised that Boots is still open, only thing I ever see people...
I'm loving purging using fermentation gas and do it via the starsan full keg. If people want Uber cheap, wouldn't the cheapest be simply to attach the FV to the beer post (Co2 in) and then take a line off the gas post to vent (Co2 out).
As a vaper, former 40 a day smoker, I find it odd that I can't vape in a pub, but it's quite acceptable to openly be having / going to the toilet for lines/keys/knuckles of cocaine. I'm more likely to be ejected for vaping.
Sorry, numpty question time. So that fits on the chiller but how do you then connect to standard hose pipe please? Seems it could be a better solution than what I've got/intending!
Similar conundrum. I've gone with jubilee/hose clips for hose connection to the chiller - it'll be so tight it won't leak - and then these:

Hi all,
I'm slowly getting to grips with Brewfather, what a great app.
Ahead of my first AG I want to make sure my boiler settings are right but there doesn't seek to be a standard profile for the 35L version of the Maischfest (or it's other other named variants).
Does anyone have their...
Now in possession of what all the bits I need need and have my CML kit all plugged into Brewfather.
To check, as I'm doing no sparge BIAB do I need to remove the malt/mash pipe or can I put the bag and grains into the pipe?
Any guidance is hugely appreciated.
Kind regards
Martyn
I've gone for this as my first foray into AG.
I'm doing it as a no sparge BIAB in the Maischfest. As I'm wanting 19L of keg beer I went with a 23L batch kit based on attempting to offset the loss of efficiency due to BIAB and no sparge. Not sure if I got that right though!
Has anyone else...
As a returning brewer I quickly moved to the Starsan method after my first keg brew was rancid. I only Co2 purged the keg a few times - it was clearly oxidized after conditioning.
Starsan method with gas bottle and I've never had the problem since.
Just today I've started my first Starsan...
Did it today. 2 blown kegs was easily enough to empty and pressurise 19L keg full of sanitiser and then close loop transfer. I also used the excess to purge a 5L keg and close loop transfer the remaining 3L of beer into that keg. Good job it worked as my gas reg is showing almost empty.
Cucumber - I find the taste and smell of it vomit inducing. If anything has been in contact with it I can detect it too. It's the devils work.
My 2 boys weirdly love it - hmm, paternity test required.
I have an integrated fridge with a similar divot but in the middle. I used some 12mm hard board and levelled by my eye and whatever I had available (might be plastic, pencils etc). My heater is screwed to the inside of the door with the cable fed through the door seal. The inkbird probe goes...
I've been a prime member pretty much since its inception (given that the huge majority of non food related items we buy come from via/Amazon) and I've always found their CS to be exceptional - even when slightly out of warranty. I'm hopeful all will be good - need to decide which AG kit to go...
