My s40 is out of warranty in October I got around the mash problem by having the lid on with no recirculation. I’ve got my eye on brewzilla machine next month the s40 I’m going to have a play around with it and see if I can improve it I had the bottom off mine a while back really simple machine...
The instructions mention setting to 103 so we know they knew of these problems before the s40 hit retail. The first thing I got emailed from grainfather asked me to take videos and about 7 other actions they wanted me to do.
I emailed back to say that what they had asked me to do was onerous...
Well foxy as we know most all in ones are made in various factories in China. I’m off my feet at the moment with a broken ankle but once I’m back on my feet I’m going down either the Brewzilla route or Bulldog Master Brewer
I would do too I reckon Grainfather will discontinue this soon Angel homebrew have the last gen brewzilla which is around the same price as the s40 in every respect it’s a better machine
I’ve had my s40 since it was first released I complained about the issues you report to Grainfather and got £100 Voucher to spend on their website. Basically the s40 is rebadged Klarstein with different firmware. The whole experience with the s40 over the last two years has put me off...
Thanks it was a bit of a freak accident well no all grain for 6 weeks I reckon in a couple of weeks I might be able to get a extract kit on for the day I’m off the the painkillers and drugs
Well I fractured my ankle and dislocated it on Last Monday I’m on crutches so for at least the next 6 weeks no brewing for me really as I’m dosed up to the eyeballs on drugs at the moment.
looks very much like Youngs have bought the name the original company for brewuk is in liquidation. Sounds very much like Youngs are expanding into retail sales.
I got one of their Grade 2 kegs Welded, I’ve looked at the keg in detail and cant see where it has been repaired Bargain Price £42 I ordered this week and it arrived a day later can fail the Malt Miller in any way.
I ferment ales at 10 psi and lagers and ciders at 15 psi you could theoretically use a pressure barrel I haven’t used one for years but if memory serves they don’t seal very well there has been quite a lot of talk around pressure barrels over the years and again if memory serves not many people...
I ordered some water addition salts a couple of months back no problems at all I don’t use them really for anything else everything seemed to be in stock last time I looked.
I have a couple of no chill cubes I use especially on double batch brewdays or waiting for space in my ferm fridge.
If I am chilling I get it down to 30 transfer to fermenter and pitch yeast when it’s dropped to around 23 guarantees less lag time from pitching to fermenting starting.
