Whats the collective thoughts on these fermenter floating devices?

Yes. I have had three fail under pressure so I've given up on them. I do miss my nice graphs tho :(

    First brew from all grain

Shame, but it's a learning curve. Keep on keeping on :)

    Ross, how was your brew?

US CO2 regulator to UK adapter

That's frustrating. I ordered the same adaptor and received the correct one having acquired a US regulator effectively free bundled with a cornie.

    Does it get expensive?

My AIO cost £170 ish, my SS Fermenter about £120, seems cheap compared to golf clubs and membership. The downside of brewing my own is that although I now rarely buy randon cans of IPA, I now buy very expensive gueuze and barrel fermented beer eg Holy Goat, Siren and Vault instead. So no money...

Using pump on Klarstein XXL to dispense into fermenter

I have the 30l Klarstein and just stick a length of silicon onto the recirculation arm and pump away. I do use a hop spider to reduce chance of pump blocking. Easy enough to clear pump tho, just blow down the tube.

How do people brew their beer?

Just started on my all grain journey so have a stash of kits still to brew. Also I can't resist a bargain hence the acquisition of 2 free kits recently. Was slightly embarrassed to just "buy" those so added 2 half price kits too. 😆

    Kits I Wouldn't Brew Again

I made the Abbaye Gold Gozdawa and thought it wasn't bad. Cold, Leffe-ish brew, hit the spot on a hot summers day.. But not spectacular. I thought MJ Berliner Weisse was great. Got my second shot at it in keg at mo.

    Beer Bargains

Bargains from Do it at home. £38 delivered. Bulldog kits were free! Think I got the last 2 tho. So much for me sticking to whole grain from now on 😄

Bulldog Four finger Jack American Pale ale.

Just picked up 2 of these kits for £0.00 plus shipping. Apparently shipped. We'll see. But if they do arrive should I give them a dry hop boost?

    The Homemade Pizza Thread

I have a Woody (Steady 😆) which is a cheaper Ooni. Great fun. Most important is to buy 3 or 4 pizza peels so you can make up a bunch of pizzas and whack them in one after the other. Procook doing wooden ones for £6.49 at mo.

It's that time again-best place to buy grains for delivery?

That flies in the face of the clear guidance set out in VFOOD9000 which does say it is how it is packaged that matters "when they are in any way packaged or prepared for use home brewing and wine making"

It's that time again-best place to buy grains for delivery?

Since you only have to charge VAT if tou are VAT registered (compulsory only if turnover exceeds £85k) I don't see any problem in buying in bulk VAT free and then splitting, as long as the consortium didn't breach the £85k limit. If it worked as a partnership so there was no sale to group...

    Retailers "own brand" kits

But Dark Rock do also do extract kits :)

    CML

Dark Rock seem cheap for malt. eg 5KG Weyerman Pilsner is £12

    CML

Is that the same though? A lot of suppliers have lager and pilsner malts listed.
