Recommend me a small stainless steel fermenter

Oh! I overlooked the fact that there are 12 litre ones! I thought it went straight from 9.5 to 19! Well, that’s that sorted then!

Recommend me a small stainless steel fermenter

I’m planning do stick to batches not bigger than 10 litres max going forward, currently ferment in a 12 litre spiedel fermenter, but I’d like something stainless steel. It is to fit in a ferminator basic, so can’t be taller than 530cm. SS brewtech brew bucket mini is the obvious choice, however...

Yeah I host them on Flickr, and then on the bottom right of the image in Flickr I click share and then share bbcode, and paste that link in here!

How long have you been brewing for?

Some serious brewing veterans in this thread! I started in October 2020 after a mate put me on to the idea, coming up on4 months, and just brewed my 8th batch yesterday. I went straight into all grain and admittedly didn’t know extract was a thing til I read more on this forum!

    Quick question on chilling

I made a bohemian pilsner in December and just added each hop addition 15 mins later in the boil before popping the hot wort in a hdpe jerry can and leaving on my doorstep to chill overnight. It turned out excelent, and I’ll probably no-chill my less hop forward brews in future as it shaved a...

    How long in secondary?

Yeah it’s a lovely spot indeed! I’ve only just moved here (from Dublin via 7 years in London)!

    How long in secondary?

Thanks for the response! To be clear, my intention was to leave it in the primary fermenter for 2 weeks at 17 degrees, then bottle condition for 2 weeks (or more likely, indefinitely, because I don’t get through 10 litres of 9.2% stout in a hurry). I never had any intention to rack to a...

    How long in secondary?

Brewed an imperial stout last Sunday (10 litre batch in a spiedel 12l fermenter), pitched it with Nottingham ale yeast, lobbed it in the ferminator and left it to get to work at 17 degrees. I don’t know why but I thought I’d have a peek today (4 days in) and was greeted with this delightful...

    Braumeister 10 Real World Experience

Since the holidays I have been unable to shake this deep rooted desire for a braumeister, specifically the baby 10 litre model, for a number of reasons: 1. Cost - 20 litre is 50% more expensive 2. Compact size - should pack away nicely 3. Volume - I’m the only beer drinker in my house, and am...

    Geterbrewed?

I know Mulranny, my wife has family there. Westport is also lovely. Anyway, sorry to drag the thread slightly off topic!

    Geterbrewed?

no way! What part? My wife is from Ballina, we actually moved to London after uni and lived there for 7 years, but with everything that’s going on we packed up, sold our house and left after the first lockdown, and have just bought a house in Enniscrone, if you know it? we rescued our lady...

    Fermenting vessel heating

Quite a bit smaller given you don’t need to account for the compressor at the bottom and extend the door out.

    Fermenting vessel heating

I agonised over how to keep a stable fermentation temperature without the space for a second fridge for weeks, and this week bought a ferminator. Currently have a lager sitting at a steady 10 degrees in my spare bedroom/office/bike room

    Geterbrewed?

I have nothing but good things to say about GEB. I have placed 6 orders with them since October, and all arrived within 2 days of hitting order, and in fact the last two have arrived within 24hrs. They use Dpd in Ireland too.

    Ferminator

I’ve just ordered one of these myself, should hopefully be here tomorrow or Wednesday latest. Interested to hear if anyone else has gotten one since this thread was started and how you’re getting on. Is there any reason you couldn’t add some ice packs or bottles of frozen water into the box to...

    Have I damaged my regulator?

Oh yeh I tried another co2 bulb and it dispenses perfectly fine and appears to hold pressure. It makes a funny squeal as it comes up to pressure but that sounds like it’s coming from the keg and not the regulator so I assumed that was normal.

    Have I damaged my regulator?

Took delivery of a lovely ikegger 5 litre keg kit on Friday to dip my toe into the world of kegging. I watched all of the videos, read all of the instructions, and decided to have a play with it using water after a few beers last night. Despite having read the instructions I still done exactly...

    Kegging/force carbonation newbie questions

Hi there, have decided to dip my toe into the world of kegging and force carbonation and ordered an ikegger 5L kit (due to space limitations), and wanted to ask a few questions in anticipation: 1. as I understand it, I can force carbonate it over a few days in the fridge using the co2 cartridge...
