I use Brewers Friend on my Iphone with the app. It does everything I need apart from calculate brewhouse efficiency. Does the app get updated? If so this would be a great addition.

I got given the cider kit for Xmas. Followed the instructions and had a taste after 48hrs just for a laugh, it was vile. Left it for another week, still vile. Tried it each week for a month and still vile, so down the drain it went......

I tried brewing kits about 25 years ago without success, so gave up. I started again with a couple of kits 13 months ago and then jumped straight in to AG brewing last May. Most of what I know has come from this forum, which I joined just over a year ago. Its a great resource. Jas

I'm with Clarkeuk on this one. I think most fridges have the pipe work at the back only. When its running, only the back wall gets cold to the touch and condensates, which leaves me to believe that's where the cooling pipes are. I do understand your anxiety though....

I've taken a punt on some Citra. I've never used it before so will be interesting to see what it's like. I've only ever used leaf before too, so using pellets will be a new experience as well.

Yep, I have a 45w tube heater in an undercounter fridge. It has been in the garage all winter and I had no problem maintaining temps.

I use distilled water. Lasts for months in my spray bottle.

I would say your spray bottle is at fault. I too use a spray bottle with Star San and haven't had any problems in the last year.

I think it depends on what you want the software for? Best for me is a nice simple UI without getting too technical. I am new to brewing having only completed 16 brews, and have not started looking at water treatments etc yet. I just use Brewers Friend for working out recipe ingredients...

I use Brewers Friend. Its really simple to use for calculating amounts of grain and hops. I'm not sure how I would get on with anything more complex......

I like the idea of a 100ml syringe. I have been using a wine thief but think a syringe would be easier.

I have got a Fuggle and a Progress in pots at the moment. I figured I could bring them in if there was risk of a frost. The Fuggle is about 9 inches high and the progress hasn't even started yet. This will be interesting for me, as I have no idea what I'm doing....

I use Irish Moss in the kettle. I think its the same as Protofloc? Jas

I've used these once. I forgot my kettle finings on an AG brew, so chucked in the Wilko finings when putting the beer in to the pressure barrel. They worked well, a very good 'get out of jail card' for me. Jas
