    Re: St Peters Cream Stout

I made this kit and it got stuck at about 1017. I left it 2 or 3 weeks in a secondary with very little movement, may to 1016. I primed and bottled in pet. It slowly got very fizzy. Tasted increasingly good. Not sure where it ended up but might be wise to use pet bottles to monitor carbonation...

    Youngs American IPA

I'm about to start my first Youngs aipa. Wondering about best approach to dry hopping. Should I use a hop bag? I have decent sized hop bag I use for stove top all grain and also small bag from festival kit designed to go over siphon end to filter out hops. I remember difficulty with the festival...

Have a go at simple AG

Just wanted to note that I too have been inspired by this thread and brewed my first all grain yesterday. Many thanks to clibit for starting the thread and everyone else that has joined in with great comments, questions and advice. I got OG of 1040 which I think is the target for the Dry Stout...

    Sterilising long things?

Well I've ordered some Star San. I'm going to try VWP for cleaning (I rinse three times after use) and Star San before / during use. Do you actually need to let Star San dry before use? I hadn't spotted that. From you tube people seem to give everything a quick spray, wait a couple of minutes...

    Sterilising long things?

That is the rymans box I bought. I'll have to try starsan. I've been using VWP and assuming immersion for 10 minutes or frequent splashing over 20 minutes is required. Makes for long brew and bottle sessions. I've seen people online using work surfaces but doesn't seem clean enough to me. Maybe...

    Sterilising long things?

I bought a long box with lid from rymans. It has marks for litres. Not sure what it's intended for. Plenty long enough for Syphon and degasser and I store brewing kit in it. It takes a lot of fluid to get enough depth for the Syphon but you could lay a couple of full 2L bottles in it to take up...

    Final Gravity?

Hello folks, I am nearly out of stock as the warm summer stopped my brewing. The temperatures now is just about OK and I have the Ultimate Brewery Classic Czech Pilsner Lager kit. I really want to start it off, but I have doubts about the instructions which say the ideal temperature is 22-24 C...

    Re: St Peters Cream Stout

I'm drinking SPCS now and really like it. Its my 4th brew. Breaking for summer as keeping fermentation cool through summer in my flat will be tricky and I'm well stocked. Can anyone recommend another good stout? Maybe Festival London Porter?

    St Peters Golden Ale review

Hi RichieBeer, thanks for your reply. Goog to hear it worked out. Think I'll get some spare yeast to keep in stock just in case. My StP Cream Stout has come out lovely, took 3 weeks to get to 1013 so a bit week but great taste and mouthfeel. I left the Golden Ale untouched for 3 weeks in primary...

    St Peters Golden Ale review

Hi RichieBeer, I've been reading posts since I started brewing Nov 17 and I've got SPGA on the go now. I'm really loving the posts and the shared drama! Please let me know what happened with your brew, did it restart? by which method? Did it taste good?
