    AG #1 done!

Congratulations on your first AG. I felt exactly the same after my first one - very underwhelmed and fairly sure that i had made big mistakes and was it all worth the effort. I did my second AG yesterday and was far more relaxed about everything - and I enjoyed the experience immensily...

    AG#2 - Kendal Which? Bitter

I used 2 whirlflocs as my first AG is struggling to clear when i used one tab. I used 2 Nottinghams as it recommends 1g per litre of Wort and the packets are 11.5g - at least thats what i think the instructions where saying, as i was doing 26l i though two would be preferable?? :wha:

    AG#2 - Kendal Which? Bitter

Did a number 2 AG yesterday, sorry no pics as still trying to get everything right :D It started out as Wheelers Pendle Witch clone but then I started fiddling and came up with the following: KENDAL WHICH? Brew Length: 25 litres Target SG : 1047 Target FG : 1012 IBU : 32...

    First order placed with MM

TT Landlord from Wheelers book was my first AG and fit the bill prefectly, dead easy and has bags more flavour than a baggy bag seller from Baggsley.

    Label Application - best way?

Milk is great on glass bottles but terrible for plastic ones. No smell either way

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

It definately needs at least 4 weeks cold conditioning and ideally 8 i would say. But if you can leave it 2 months your reward will be well worth it

    HB & Migraines

Quick update. Been in hospital for 2 days with pneumonia, sinusitis and two ear infections along with the migraine. None of which were caused by HB :-D Now got 2 boxes of antibiotics which do not say AVOID ALCOHOL on them anywhere:-D My views on my electric cig has changed though and that is...

    HB & Migraines

    HB & Migraines

I agree - I have never had a hangover the day after drinking HB. Take this week I last had a drink on Saturday night, felt fine on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday and then got a killer Migraine on Weds / Thurs / Fri - so can safely assume its not the HB - just wanted to see if anyone else had the...

    HB & Migraines

Been brewing beer for around 6 months and have had real bad migraines once a month for the last three months. Prior to this i have not had a migraine for over 20 years so was wondering if anyone thinks that there may be something to this theory or that it is purely coincidence. My brews are...

    Coopers European Lager Review

If you can though its well worth leaving for the full 12 weeks. Although i would say after around 8 weeks it is bloody good!!

    April's FHM, brewdog article.

From a purely selfish POV I agree totally

    April's FHM, brewdog article.

I can imagine that they will try it - I use electric cigs which are currently just standard rated, but every time I go out there are more people vaping and less people smoking. The government will soon want their pound of flesh on propolene glycol as they probable will with malted barley :(...

    Beer/wine and your health

I worked mine out a few days ago and it is around 24-25 units per week - well within "reasonable" I think

    Beer/wine and your health

+1 - I think I am drinking less now than i was 6 months ago when i was buying beer. I take much more time to savour my hard work and drink for enjoyment - not to get drunk  Plus the freedom afforded by HB'ing when the government is introducing minimum pricing and breweries are lowering...

First Brewday - Coopers Real Ale

Sounds good to me - 26 degrees is fine for pitching but just make sure it cools to around 20 degrees fairly soon after this.
