    Back Hop? Hop Back?

I have two pumps so maybe I will put one either side if I have issues.

    Back Hop? Hop Back?

I just bought a Blichmann hop rocket and a pair of camlocks with 1/2" NPT fittings to go with it. They are expensive, especially when almost everywhere seems out of stock, including the almost identical Aussie Kegland Hop Missile, so no chance of shopping around. The Blichmann has US NPT threads...

Is the Meghan Interview with Oprah a big deal in the UK? Is/was Oprah Winfrey a big celeb with you folks?

The nation seems to be transfixed by the trials an tribulations of an outdated royal family when the following is happening. Entire UK Primary Care budget - £9 Billion Entire UK Police Budget - £15 Billion Entire UK Fire Service Budget - £3 Billion Cost of 5% pay rise for NHS nurses - £500...

Is the Meghan Interview with Oprah a big deal in the UK? Is/was Oprah Winfrey a big celeb with you folks?

I don't care about the monarchy, however pity the press seem to have forgotten all about Prince Andrew, how convenient. Apart from being a non-covid story, it distracts people from asking the real questions such as WTF are the government spending 30+ billion on? A bit of a breakdown of costs...

    Which beer tap?

The taps arrived today. Taking the nozzle off reveals what looks like a standard sparkler thread So I get the sparkler from my existing tap and it fits lovely. I'll keep the original nozzles in case I need to serve something else in future. So, although I haven't tried to serve beer out...

Thanks guys I'll wait until I have got this new pair of taps and give them a go and take it from there. Cheers Andy

    Which beer tap?

Sounds interesting but I know nothing about this kind of tap. What I am looking for is something that can dispense lightly carbonated ales but liven it up on delivery, i.e. mimic a hand-pump and sparkler. My current tap does that, I'm struggling to find something similar. The Perlick seem to get...

    Which beer tap?

I just took a punt on a pair of these, old Worthington taps. Not sure what is in the nozzle but I can probably fit a sparkler if they haven't got one already. I'm still interested to see if anybody has any opinions on the best tap to add to my exiting tap. I may get one more tap, four sounds a...

    Which beer tap?

I've not really been following what has been gone off in the beer dispensing world far a few years, not that I did much before. I have six or so cornies but I have only really needed one tap before, working away 4 days a week meant that I only needed one tap. I tend to keg half of an 80 litre...

Not exactly, but I did get his liver when he snuffed it....... :)

    What did you brew today?

I went overboard with the hops today, I wanted a hoppy quaffing ale, a bit stronger than a session beer but not quite a special ale. I blame the outcome on myself, however migrating from Beersmith to Brewfather didn't help. I tested the water again for alkalinity and calcium. The water comes...

    Show us your dog

Here's our Peggy. The last dog we had was Sherman, the ginger English bull terrier. he lived to 17. Then we had a break from dogs for about 10 years until the kids grew up a bit, Peggy is a Schnauzer/poodle cross. My wife and kids are mildly allergic to some dogs, dogs that don't drop their fur...

    NB's bunker brewery build

Holy thread revival batman! As I've returned to the forum after about 7 years, I thought an update was due. I've done a bit of maintenance and a few mods and I've a list of improvements that need to be made. I brewed a stout last week, this revealed a few issues but first a general update...

    What did you brew today?

One of those days, it's been about 8 months since the last brew, I had a few issues. Started well, toasted 2.25kg of rolled oats. Its Aleman's Effin Oatmeal stout, known to cause issues with mashing so I added 400g of rice hulls. But it was still very slow on the recirc, it's a 3 step mash. A...

I've got Starsan, so I must be well trendy. I did buy a pair of nice new blickman riptide pumps last year to replace the ageing solar pumps. Priming is no longer a problem.

That will be it, I do have blockers on my work PC. From my phone I see the ads. Before you couldn't hover over a word without it popping up a definition linked to an ad. Hey, ho most of the forums I frequent have followed suit, apart from a couple where I pay a tenner a year to support the...

Newish member, it's been seven years since the last time I was on.

Good evening all. I haven't been on the forum for ages, just found time to start brewing more than twice a year again. What's new? Last time I was on here the forum had been sold on and the new one was full of adverts and other annoying things so jumped ship to other forums then stopped brewing...

    Corny cleaning

if you buy RO water from an aquarium/pet shop, take a container to save dosh and be green. Ex-spring water gallon bottles are ideal or I use a plastic 25L "gerry can". I've made a wall mounted frame to carry the gerry can so its easy to get it out of the tap for rinsing and topping up the spray...

    Corny cleaning

RO water is cheaper and completely salts free, about 50p for 5 litres from pet/aquarium shops. 1.6ml per litre is the dilution from memory I make up 25 litres at a time, lasts ages. Cheers Andy
