    Police bikers heading for Cumbria.

I do... The triumph was an upgrade from a BSA Bantam, ex-Post Office bike in red. The Triumph was much faster, would just about reach 70 mph downhill.

    Police bikers heading for Cumbria.

That video reminds me when the space shuttle landed at Stanstead airport in 1983... I was riding on my Triumph Tiger Cub from Harlow to Stanstead to watch... Was over-taken by (seemed like) dozens of motorcycle cops on the M11 motorway. Was bricking-it, as I had no licence or insurance (I've...

    Beer cappers

I have a steel hand capper, other than not liking Wychwoord bottles, it has worked fine for many, many brews. However, if it did give up working. I'd go for a good quality bench capper.

    Any tea drinkers here?

No didn't go up Adam's peak, it looks so exhausting. Some of the small rural eating places are excellent for good food. The wife is Sri Lankan, she knocks up a blinding curry.

    Split Batches

I've done a lot of pseudo parti-gyle / blending to brew 5 beers from one batch. It in entails a first and second wort boiled separately (two boils) which enables two different hopping schedules, then blending into 5 batches. For examples... IPA, Pale Ale, Best Bitter, Ordinary Bitter, Light...

    Any tea drinkers here?

Ceylon tea is fab... sweetener tablet I'm not so sure about. When I stay at the Mount Lavinia Hotel in Colombo, they do a fantastic curry breakfast, goes well with good Ceylon tea.

First AG brew day - the missing litre.

For a first AG brew, I think it went swimmingly... When I started I would be happy to get beer and didn't worry much else. If I'm short, I add extra water to my batch priming solution at bottling time. Doesn't happen often nowadays as I know exactly how much brew water I need at the start.

    Pumpkin ale

I've never brewed pumkin ale , but I drank a bottle once, not overly impressed! One vegetable I've been meaning to brew with is spiced honey roasted parsnips. Crushed coriander seed, cumin seed and honey glaze.

Milk Stout Recipe (my first ever stout)

I agree with MyQul, for a first stout, its far to complicated. I did look at your other thread a few days ago and your recipe poked me in the eye for being out of kilter for me (proportionally), not enough base malt and a high percentage of some adjunts. You can brew a really good stout with a...

    English Dry Stout

I add the roast barley to late kettle to reduce the sharp, astringent and burnt flavour. As MyQul said its smoother, but still adding a good amount of colour and dryness, you don't need to add so much either. There is plenty of smoky, burnt coffee/burnt toast notes in the black malt. The amber...

    Cold Crashing

I've never cold crashed beer. I understand why people think they need to do it. I just don't feel its a necessary part of the brewing process. My beer is always super clear, just with some kettle finings and a little time. Getting all your brewing duck to stand in a row, helps too.

Feedback on Tate and Lyle's syrup recipe, please.

The tin is the old fashioned packaging and the plastic squeezy bottle is the newer type. Contains the same stuff.

Feedback on Tate and Lyle's syrup recipe, please.

I think he is saying Belgian candi sugar isn't the same as Britsh brewers invert sugar. Although methods and ingredients are similar, they are not the same.

A bit off topic... If you do go the brewers invert route. Make some No. 3 and some brewers caramel too, then you can brew one of my favorite beers... Adnams XXXX... http://barclayperkins.blogspot.com/2016/12/lets-brew-wednesday-1949-adnams-xxxx.html Brewers Caramel Instructions...

I can't help you with making golden syrup. Although I would use brewers invert No.1, which would be a good substitute... A Septic's Trip to the UK
