Delayed pitching is essentially simulating lag time. Probably will give you clearer beer but no good if you are brewing hazy IPA where you need yeast to be active while proteins and whirlpool hop oils are still in suspension. I’ve seen other simulate lag time by disrupting the wort environment...
UK pale malt has lower protein than US 2 row. This post advises pilsner malt:

I use Crisp lager malt: "Crisp Maltings Europils also known as Lager Malt is produced from high...
Doing a mash out should give you the missing 0.008 because sugar stuck to the grains will release into solution when heated.
Full volume mash would be much worse because of diluted enzymes.
It depends on the style you are trying to brew. E.g. If brewing a clear IPA then do a hopstand at flameout temps of around 100-90C and then chill fast, this gets the hop oils in and the proteins out. If brewing a hazy IPA then do the hopstand below 80C and the hop oils bind with the cold break...
The return/refurb had dropped to £219.99 lately and they just added a 30% off coupon taking it to £153.99 so I ordered one. Will report back on the condition of the return/refurb if it arrives!
I noticed they listed a refurbished silver for £288.99 and with the 24SUMMER21 code for 21% it comes to £228.30. Not as good as the £176.99 we all paid but not bad. Sounds like the refurb might just be an unwanted return and so likely hasn't been through a brew.
Edit: seems they recently had a...
Cornwall reports can be downloaded from South West Water's your water.
E.g. for TR10 9EP, report for Period: 01/01/2023 to 31/12/2023, the sulphate mean is 16.44, chloride mean is 31.63, pH mean is 7.66 (so can't sparge with that, will need acid).
According to Malt Miller if your recipe states oats but you use flaked torrified oats you need to double the amount because of the weight of the husk
https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/flaked-oats/
Brewfather doesn't appear to calculate this difference. E.g. changing torrefied oats to...
The main risk of blockage is a hop pellet during whirl pool so I don't run the pump until pellets dissolved and am careful not to add them over inlet hole by adding to opposite side. I had it happen before and to clear I used a large syringe to push air into the camlock fitting so backwards into...
I upgraded to a plate chiller. Only about £22.58 from Aliexpress and a few pounds each for the various fittings. I went for male camlock to hose barb. Then 2x plastic male hoselock and 2 x 1/2" male BSP hose barbs. Using 10mm ID x 14mm OD from the camlock to the barb. Running the tap water on...
A trick is to turn on the pump to recirculate some water up to the top to help with doughing in.
It also is essential to stir during the mash to prevent channelling and increase efficiency. Also a good idea to keep the recirc pump use at a minimum (just enough to spread the heat around) during...
I'd like to know all the measurements that aren't shown on the order page like width between the legs and height inc an airlock. Also if you can swap the barb for an airlock, e.g. what size bung it takes?
However, it seems Klarstein aren't selling the Gärkeller Pro 15L anymore which is a shame...
I asked SS Brewtech for the diameter of the silicone base of the 3.5 gal Brew Bucket Mini which is not anywhere on their website or on any other store listing so thought I'd share their reply here in case it helps others:
"Just the bucket without the silicone base from the bottom of the cone to...
I did a little upgrade for transfer out. Its a male camlock to tubing barb (I use 10mm ID x 14mm OD) saves me having to wedge the tubing onto the sparge arm which has kinda sharp edges tears into the tube.
E, 1/2"
£2.58 total

I use the whirl pool arm to make a hop cone so no need for a hop spider or bazooka but you could just stir with a spoon. I just pump the whirlpool for a couple min remove the arm then leave it undisturbed for about 10-15min.
Then I attached a hose to the sparge arm to transfer out to fermenter...
All-in-ones have a bottom drain to get every drop of wort out, have you considered making one of those? Angel Homebrew sell a kit which uses a skin-fitting from a boat, not as flush as a welded hole in a real all-in-one but getting close.
Actually that one takes 2 x AAA and the Kegland takes 4x LR44 and offers 3 point calibration vs the usual 2 points in the Chinese clone meters like that one.
