    Hi Portreath, For what it's worth , I'd go with stopping the primary fermentation @ 1.003.25 above the expected f.g and rack to bottle or cask @ 1.003° above f.g , though you'd need to adjust the Gravity @ pitch if you don't want to loose the abv target . Hope that is...

    How Do Pit Creature, I'd suggest letting the hops roam free in the boil , and stand the copper 1/2 hour at the end of the boil , then cool ( medium slow run off from the copper) , Hope that helps , Cheers Edd

    Hi All , Update on the Oldham Brewery beers thing ; As brewed by Robinson's , a brewery conditioned smooth beer , but when brewed at Boddingtons , it DEFINITELY used Boddingtons famous 13 strain yeast !! , just had an email from a senior former member of the brewing staff at Boddingtons.     Hi Peebee, Thanks for that , I know Eric from that other place , and on the yeast front , if it was a Yorkshire Square strain hmm , I'd probably go for a John Smith's yeast , as a hell of a lot of the smaller northern brewers were using it , Tong's of Bolton , Whitwell Mark of Kendal etc etc...
