    Pre 95 Boddingtons anyone ?

Back in the day I really really enjoyed it - I remember it was served with a 'head'. There was a pub in the Wye valley that served beer straight out of the barrel cooled by water running down the rock face the pub was built against. All the beers served had low carbonation. For Boddies that...

    Sewage

I seem to recall when the privatised companies took over it was stated that because they were going to be more efficient, they would have the funds which then would be available to upgrade the infrastructure so such events would not happen or be necessary - we all know that is a fallacy and...

    Hello from the Highlands

Is a bathroom a good place to brew? I have a friend who brews in a corner of his bathroom and has not reported a problem - but I had two brews fail in mine, so its back to the over crowded utility room now.

How much work is needed to brew kits?

I only use 2 can kits - for the extra £5 -7 and no extra work apart from opening an extra can I think its a no brainer. I have now got 6 or so brews to have a go at when I feel like it, and there are very few beers pub bought that are better - and even less bottled. But its everyone to their...

    Damson wine recipe advice

Mine were a bit funny this year, they seemed to be dropping before fully ripe. Give them ago - I may be totally wrong re ripeness. I have not made Damson this year, just the Damson Porter plus 4 gall of red currant wine (our favourite) and a gallon of crab apple.

    Damson wine recipe advice

I have found that the resultant wine can vary wildly year on year. I have wine, even after several years storage that would still qualify as paint stripper! Other years the result is sublime. The only variable I can put it down to is the ripeness of the fruit so now I try to use really ripe...

Scrapping HS2 Leeds extension 'undermines' levelling up

To live sustainably you need to live locally, where you work, where you shop e.t.c. There Bo Jo talks again with forked tongue its ok to do what I want, you just toe the line. . Luckily sense may be prevailing and like the garden bridge his grandiose scheme will be kicked into touch. It would...

    Marcus Rashford becomes MBE

I can only applaud his integrity and concern for his fellow beings. I personally believe the major problem this Country is facing is over population. There will always be people that lack the drive to get themselves out of the hole they find themselves, just as there is those that start out in...

    Asbestos

    Undercarbonated St Peter's Honey Porter

This does not make sense, if they are 500ml then 2 drops should more than suffice. How about transferring the contents of two PETs into glass bottles. In one add carb drops, in the other an equivalent amount of priming sugar. If bottle one carbs up then your PET is porous (never known it) If...
