'I shall not be commenting further on this thread other than to say, Margaret Thatcher was not very tall but once she started to speak that didn't really matter much'
True - some suddenly felt sick
Thatchers do a lot of good. They keep the rain out!
That women destroyed unity in this country and had no moral code, just like her son.
Perversely when she destroyed the mining industry she turned out to be ahead of her time.
I would agree with DC - after brewing my bottles are pushed near the kitchen rad a couple of days then into the garage or pulled away from the rad. In the summer and the chilly now they take their chance. I do not use a 2ndry, a friend does but in back to back tasting no discernible difference...
Just poured, used half light malt and half brewing sugar. Took a full 3 weeks to brew and only a couple of weeks since bottling, its glorious! Going to have a job not to knock it back too quickly. Unfortunately think the wife might like it too. (its good to share they say - sometimes)
'Haven't come across Big Mountain, but Mont-blanc is undrinkable in any of its manifestations. Expensive, too. I'm genuinely at a loss to understand how they manage to sell the stuff. There are plenty of good beers that are not to my taste, but this just isn't good beer.
Fischer makes a lager...
Recently returned from France (French Alps) Everything sweet and insipid apart from a local beer which was drinkable, unfortunately cannot remember the brewery's name. Used to like Belgium but most too strong, not the USA because anything they they can brew we can brew better! Might as well just...
I wonder over the years does ones taste change so fond memories may not be relevant now? I remember the Dogsbollocks (Firkin) with great affection but that was before hoppy ales became the vogue - I used to like Old Pic until one night I was not very well after a few pints, too sweet for me...
Resorted to the Chinese way of pollinating this year - a soft brush. The garden is close to being insect sterile this year - I normally get a bite or two which I react badly too, nothing this year at all - what are we doing to our planet?
Fill the bottles with water then add a little VWP - leave an hour and rinse - I have no more room for more equipment.
Saving as many flip tops as I can and I use recycled pop bottles, its the capping that I find a pain
I forgot to mention - I add nothing apart fro pectic enzyme if I think it needs it, very rarely - just try and get it to work out fully. Sometimes the wine ends up too dry but I will have a sweet one to mix with it somewhere.
It happens especially if its bottled in the winter months, the warmer weather can kick it into life. I store in the garage and do what Chippy suggested. Get some screw tops for the next batch.
