    BM 20 low pumped tap

I have been thinking about using something like this in my barumeister for larger grain bills. And to do full volume mashes. I have no idea how it will work though...

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

WCIPA, this one is so good I am ignoring the case of Sierra Nevada pale ale.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Having a dark mild. Like a perfect cask pour. The T58 is mellowing and nice, it actually seems quite british with a bit of pepper on the finish. The burnt rubber is completely gone now. I will definitely use T58 again in a dark style again.

    Decoding the yeast wheel

So essentially there are minimal similarities to understand between the yeast on the wheel? Guess I am back to just going through the list and trying them all out.

    Decoding the yeast wheel

Here is an interesting article from fullers about the two yeasts which seem to be different. https://www.fullers.co.uk/blog/beer-articles/yeast

    Decoding the yeast wheel

It also looks like it has similar characteristics of 1272 which is the anchor ale yeast. Very interesting.

    Decoding the yeast wheel

Yes well that's the interesting thing, it directs us below but 1098 and S-04 are far away on the yeast wheel from 007/002 and Vermont? Unfortunately, the actual family tree of this yeast is unknown, beyond that it has its origins in the United Kingdom. Internet sleuths have surmised that it’s...

    Decoding the yeast wheel

I was looking over the yeast wheel from suregorks website located here. https://beer.suregork.com/?p=4112 I am not sure I understand the relationships between the yeasts that are illustrated on the graph. For example in the screenshot below would I assume Vermont(Conan) is a sibling, parent...

    Using a Hop Spider

I do use a hop spider for every brew, I will also give it a few dips, stirs and scrapes to make sure wort flows through. I just bought this kegland one and am very happy with it. The tapered design fits perfect in my braumeister too...

    pennine's brewdays

Well it's got a nice barm already, I think I will drop this into a keg later today to finish fermenting.

    pennine's brewdays

I should, but not this time. Once I get a recipe down that I want two kegs worth I think I will give it a shot. I also need to figure out which yeast works best for open fermentations.

    pennine's brewdays

1 or 2 days and then I will drop into a keg to finish fermenting.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

If I were you I would just have a case of staropramen for whenever I felt in the mood for a lager. Although paulaners great too.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Thanks for the reminder, I should buy a couple more kegs to have the bitter's ready to go when one blows. Although that may be a good poll question what's a good number of beers to have on tap?

    pennine's brewdays

248 Extra Special Bitter 11l batch - 1.055/1.015 - 62c70c/78c mash - boil 60 min I was hoping to brew something like a Harveys Best buy ended up way overshooting my gravity. I even topped up with multiple litres after the boil. Anyway this will be a bunch of first times for me, open...

    Sam's brew day's

I just checked my caramunich 3 and caraaroma, looks almost identical to caraaroma.

    Sam's brew day's

Looks like a caraaroma or special b? That is not any sort of Munich.

    Novalager

Agreed, I am looking forward to hearing others opinions on it. I also think it makes a great beer and I had no problem drinking multiple pints in a row of it. Which is rather unusual for me. No worries about comnenting on the difference in process either, it's an important point.
