    Malt Miller?

Just done a dry run, eventually, I guess they don't want anyone without an account to find it...

    GrainFather v other systems.

I'm only 10 brews in on my gf but I'm made up with it. To be fair there's a bit of teqnique fettling required, but I'm sure that's the same with any one pot system. The bonus with the gf is the brilliant cfc, the Bluetooth control and the first class customer service. I've never seen a complaint...

Poochops GF Brewday #10 Rochefort 10 clone

Worried about this now! It's carbed up in a week, the test bottle is rock hard :-( expecting bottle bombs now, but you never know. In the words of Nat King Cole, 'there may be trouble aheeeeaaad'

    Ph tester

I've got the yellow pen and it calibrates fine but I do tend to find my mash ph is higher than it should be given I treat my liquor, so I think I'll get some of those strips for my next brew day. Seen them £6.25 for 50 delivered on Amazon if you've got prime, £7.25 if not

Poochops GF Brewday #10 Rochefort 10 clone

The flavour change has been wierd to be honest, after it finished brewing it was very smooth a little roasty and chocolatey, two weeks later it was all hot and actually quite rough and now two months further on and it's calmed down again, it's very complex with raisin, chocolate, malt loaf, my...

    Carbonation drops

2 days is way too short I don't know why they would say that, give them 2-3 weeks as hoddy said, bottle one in a plastic pop bottle to test it, as it carbonates it'll get firmer to squeeze and will be quite hard by the time it's finished.

Poochops GF Brewday #10 Rochefort 10 clone

Well the bulk conditioning sorted out the hot alcohol flavours but it didn't go any lower so 10.7% and 79% attenuation, it tastes very promising indeed. Bulk primed to 2.5 with 140g of sugar and a fresh pitch of about 75billion wyeast 1762. Got 70 bottles and a plassy one to test the...

Brewing a Belgian Style IPA for first time.

Could be because it's 20% sugar? I'm struggling to understand the addition of 3 different hops for 90 minutes in this one to be honest, you'll get a lot of bitterness with little aroma or flavour, what were you hoping to achieve? You have over 80 ibu's then a miniscule dry hop which will be...

Lemon citra sour. Cost about 15p a bottle and easily comparable to sours I've paid £3 for

    Ade's Brew Days

How did you find the CML Belgian yeast in your patersbier? I used it on a old peculier clone and whilst it's a nice pint it's as Belgian as moules et frites. Very very phenolic, it's overwhelmingly dominant in my brew.

    What are you drinking tonight.

Off on my jollibobs tomorrow, so martini espresso cocktails before tea, a bottle of my Cwtch clone, one of my zeitgeist and a couple of my jackhammers. I'll sort the hangover out in the airport.

    GEB Recipe Builder Prices

I use their byo recipe kits now, never have any leftover grains to store or hops in the freezer, well I won't have once I've used up my last hops this summer :laugh8: plus no weighing out or faffing around milling, open the sack and pour it in the mash, it's worth a few quid more to me, although...

    Horners Brew Day

Well done Horner you're on the slippery slope now, there's no going back! The next one you do will go much more smoothly from the experience, and when you taste the results you'll be amazed you produced it yourself.

    When to hop......

I think I did this kit, I just let it go for 2 weeks then dry hopped for a week. It was like IPA for about 4+ months, well hoppy, but once it calmed down a lot it was lovely. Still got about 15 bottles in the garage it's a really nice Pilsner style now.

    Anyone want to swap?

I'd like to swap please, I've a clone of Thornbridge St. Petersburg, a smoked RIS I'd like to compare with your chocolate imperial stout, something I've been researching a recipe for to brew sometime soon. It's not smokey like a chimney or anything, quite subtle!
