    Lager recipes

I am wholeheartedly recommend the following. "Southern Jessie" - a Luke Stevens recipe (brewing mate of mine). Grist 94% Floor Malted Bohemian Pilsner Malt (Weyerman - the expensive stuff) 6% Carapils/Carafoam Hops (roughly 100 grams in total at 6% AA) 60 minute addition 8 IBU - East Kent...

Cylinderless Beer Pump - Advice please.

Thanks mate, Sorry for the late reply. I understand that pub cask ales are conditioned to the same 1.6 - 1.8 vols of CO2, hence my target. I have used my Pint 365 at lower volumes and they lack enough CO2 separation - you can certainly tell. Can I ask what serving temps you are at for 2 psi...

Cylinderless Beer Pump - Advice please.

Hi all, I usually serve my (cask-esque) beers from a corny keg at about 1.6-1.8 vols of CO2 using a Pint 365 - works great. However, I recently bought a cylinder less Angram beer pump and was wondering (before I set it up) how it works? Can I still charge my corny kegs to the same Vols of CO2...

    Beer engine

Hi mate, I have jus t bought one of these type - I have a Pint 365 which works great, but went for one of these due to price. I serve from Corny kegs so thought this would be a good choice. Never used it, can I ask how they work? Do I need CO2 to push it through; I usually charge my corny...

Thanks for the feedback, I will make sure that it reaches the lads. The podcast has moved on quite significantly - the lads do tend to have a few drinks so language can be a tad loose but it has really has settled into a great source of good information for Home Brewers. As with all podcasts...

    Watering down beer

How do you think priming in the bottle works if not with oxygen present? Carbonation to occur requires fermentation, by it's very definition - fermentation is the conversion of sugar to alcohol and CO2 which requires the presence of yeast, sugar and Oxygen.

The Quest for the Perfect Bitter

Would really recommend that you switch out the leaf hops for Pellets (the 150g of Fuggle leaf hoovers up everything !!!). Also, if you have one, serve this on a hand pull at 2-3 psi. Mine entire keg lasted 7 days - just me drinking it !!!!

    Nespresso for beer’

Complete and utter rubbish - what are they using to ferment out in 3 days - only KVIEK does that. I appreciate it is under pressure - but flavoured LME, pre hopped with an over pitch of yeast ready in under a week seems likely to taste like *****...I'm ready to be proven wrong....

Not sure about XXXX anymore but the brewery still sell Wxm Laager (and added a further Pilsner Malt to the line up called Bootlegger).

Hi - I have attached my hoist to the garage beams and for the smaller brews (23 Litre into Fermenter) I am happy that the joists will take the 20 KG to 35 KG weight, it is the double batches I am concerned about. However, as I split my Garage in half (or rather from 6 meters long to 4+2...
