I’ve got a tilt and it goes in every brew. Love being able to monitor it as the fermenter lives in the garage. I use the tiltpi to log the info to google sheets and Brewfather.
I’ve also built a couple of tilts but I’ve never got around to balancing and calibrating them. I really should do...
I was late to the bikes but I started with an MT125 around the time I started brewing kits. I then did my full licence and purchased an XSR900 around the time I did my first all grain.
Coincidence?
Yeah I’d like a beer gun but can’t warrant the spend. So a £2 carbonation cap will have to do. Or just prime the bottle if you don’t mind a little sediment.
I don’t think it does. I’ve had mine go up towards 20psi but usually keep it about 10.
I drop it to zero to dry hop and haven’t had any off flavours
It’ll just carbonate the beer so be careful if you dry hop it as it will rise quicker than you think if you open it up.
I’ve bottled from the fermzilla and the beer wasn’t massively carbonated but did hold some.
I found the key is to get the beer cold. Then you can slowly reduce the pressure in the fermzilla to 1-2 psi to bottle without the beer using too much fizz.
If you try to bottle it at 10psi it’ll just...
I’ve got a couple and have occasionally used them, usually in series so it filters the large bits before and the small bits second.
I’ve used it from the kettle to the fermenter and it was clogging with hop matter all the time.
I used it once from a bucket to bottle but I’m pretty sure it...
I think it’s the 27L one I have. Haven’t seen any complains about the all rounder but I’m sure it won’t be long before someone pours boiling wort in or doesn’t put a spunding valve on and it goes boom! in the night.
Tempted with the all rounder as I don’t dry hop that much, but I use a lot ok...
Agree, not had any issues with mine. The one above with the chunk taken out of the dump valve assembly hasn’t been caused by pressure, someone has given it a whack with a hammer. Rubber mallet and a gentle tap will undo it first time.
I don’t even have to lube the collection bottle, hand...
I bought a couple of these ones from BrewKegTap about a year ago and did wonder the same.
normal disconnects do fit mine but they did need a good push before I get a click.
It’s almost impossible to do it single handed when the keg is in a fridge.
I started with the Wilko PB and a wherry kit, then a second hand king keg before moving to corny kegs
a year ago.
getting a good seal on the PBs was always a bit of an issue a lot of Vaseline was required.
I found a lot of people over tighten them and deform the O-ring. Once I stopped doing...
I do no chill and I pour the lot in. It usually sits in the cube for a day or two before it goes into the FV.
If it’s a hoppy one I pour it through a muslin cloth to filter out the crud.
Some Kveik yeasts can smash out beers really quickly. I did a porter with Yeast Bay Voss, pitched Wednesday and I was drinking if Monday.
I did it in my fermzilla at 10psi which speed up the carbonation a bit
I ferment in a Fermzilla at around 10psi which is producing some cracking beers.
I’d like to make some small experimental batches say 1-2 gallon and ferment them under pressure too.
However doing this is the fermzilla would leave loads of headroom and will probably require me to add co2.
does...
Yeah that’s very high around 2.2bar is around 32psi. Also makes me wonder how he knew what it was in the middle of the night.
It should hold tight at that pressure however. But then there are so many unknown factors. How old is it? What’s he been using to clean it?
It’ll be interesting to see...
