I have one too and my probe did the same. My boil just kept getting hotter and it peaked about 150C. Used the other probe and it was fine.

ive seen some people adding a small nut to make sure it drops below the beer line. I haven’t found a need to yet.

I used the Ubbe for a galaxy smash a month ago and I wasn’t impressed. Compared to the citra smash I did with voss earlier in the year it wasn’t as crisp and didn’t clear up very well. Put it this way I didn’t bother harvesting the yeast when I was finished.

Without a spunding valve you can’t pressure ferment. There’s no way I’d put trust in the PRV to reliably go off. Some yeasts go off like a rocket with their CO2 production and you’d never be able to keep up. I have a spunding valve set to about 10psi on there all the time.

Next time I do an order of ingredients I’ll add to my basket to give a try. I read that if you use them at whirlpool you don’t need to dry hop. That’s got to be worth an experiment.

Do you whirlpool? I’ve stopped doing it in mine as even the subtlest whirlpool can bring up the false bottom and then loads of crap ends up in my no chill cube.

Got mine from you last October, no complaints. Would recommend to anyone as I've said here. But would also say anyone wanting to do pressure fermenting dont just jump in, read about it, watch youtube videos. I think that's where a lot of accidents are happening. Also great CS from yourself.
