    Equipment - PID Control Panels

Anyone added these to their set up? Upgrading to larger kit and have the option to add a control system. Cost of an all inclusive control system is pretty steep, wondering what others are using. Have seen a version from Einbrew which looks like a decent piece of kit Cheers

    ****Fermentasaurus Mega Giveaway****

Gen 2 for me please. Really excited about trying to ferment under pressure and utilise closed transfers. I also really want to start harvesting my yeast so would be great to have easy access to the yeast after a brew acheers.

    How big is yours?

Yeah the klarstein is good although I find it a bit of struggle with grain bills around 8kg+. Cornys were a game changer mate, I would recommend going to kegs if you have the space etc

    How big is yours?

Yeah I totally get that, was the reason I bought my klarstein. Thing is I'm now wanting to start brewing bigger batches in both total volume and grain bill so need to get some bigger equipment.

    How big is yours?

That would be excellent, thanks very much. I've had a look and see they have a 200 litre pot available, could be tempted to go all in at that size haha

    How big is yours?

I'd like to be around the 100 litre mark I think. I had considered the brewzilla, that with my current klarstein would have me up to around 100 but I like the idea of moving to a 3 vessel system

    How big is yours?

I've got some extra space for my brewing now and looking to get myself some bigger kit :D Currently use an all in one 35l klarstein and looking to move to a traditional 3 pot system for some bigger brews. How big is everyones set up here and what size batches are you brewing? Have seen...

    Czech Pilsner

No silly questions, best way to learn imo. Everyone was in your boat at one point!

    Czech Pilsner

So basically "@ xxx" is at what time the hops are added to the boil. Think of it as a countdown, so for the above, When the boil starts, your 90min timer starts When your timer is "@" 80mins (ie 80 mins left) the first addition would go in and so on until all your hops have been added and your...

    Czech Pilsner

Definitely! Go for it! Just keep an eye on that fermenting temperature, as @foxbat said it's the other parts of brewing this style that make it complicated and challenging :)

    Czech Pilsner

Hi mate, ended up brewing this a little later but it's currently sat fermenting away and doing ok. I loosly followed the above, just went for a simple mash, didn't bother with the decoction. 60min @ 65°c 3.8kg Pilsner 450g Vienna 250g Munich 250g Dextrin 90min boil Saaz 38g @ 80 Saaz 23g @...

    Mini Kegs

Just a quick one on this, these arrived the other week and they are great, think they'll come in really handy. Quick one though for anyone that has uses these, Will I have any problem filling these from my corny in the future? I individually primed the ones last week but just thinking for the...

Lager brewing, first few brews gone wrong

Other people will be advise better as I've only brewed a couple but I would check your timings and ensure your temperature control is on point. Last pilsner I brewed I fermented out for about 3 weeks, towards the end added a diacetyl rest, then transferred to the fridge to condition and...

    A bit of fun

Did fancy the idea of a brown ale, I've never brewed one before so thought it could be worth a look. Also wondered if it could be turned into a black IPA...again no experience of these

    A bit of fun

So a bit of lockdown fun to try and keep people entertained.. I'm wanting to have a clear out of the half open bags of grains, hops and what not that I have sitting around. It's not a massive selection granted but let's have your suggestions on what to brew with the below :) 3kg marris otter...

    Problem?

That's really good to know, I was probably overthinking it but just a little concerned with how prominent it was. Got a load to dry hop with as well so looking forward to that!

    Problem?

No first time brewing this and I did add amarillo post boil (not sure if I've actually used amarillo come to think about it) I was worried that I had maybe underpitched. To be honest I really hope it is just the hops as it's pretty prominent so would be pretty good if it settles a little!!
