    Grainfather Strike Water?

Very similar to my experience. Done 17 brews on the Grainfather and I need 30l at the start of the boil to get 23l into the fermenter. It's no big deal, I always hit the recipe targets. I've given up wondering why other people don't need this much. The beer tastes great and that's all that...

    GrainFather v other systems.

The wort is pumped through the malt pipe to the chiller. You could use the ball valve on the malt pipe to slow the flow of wort if you wanted. I only ever use the ball valve when mashing if to much wort is going down the overflow pipe. Only ever have it fully open when pumping to the fermeter...

Very similar in the Grainfather. There is a bit of dead space where the break material falls and the filter takes care any left in the wort. I like to use leaf hops for bittering as these form a nice natural filter.

    What did you brew today?

Mashing the Gamma Ray recipe that @Braindead kindly posted some time ago. If it turns out anything like the original I'll be well chuffed.

That looks like it would be a great improvement. Good spot @Clint . Looked on the Kegland site and it's ony $14.95 Australian. They point you to their China website for international orders, but it seems to be for exclusively for wholesalers. I bet if you can find one in the UK it'll be more...

    Beer fridge needed

Took me a couple of weeks to find the right fridge close enough to collect. Got a £450.00 Miele fridge for £5.50 on flebay. Had no shelves or door racks so nobody else wanted it. Keep looking. Something will turn up.

    What did you brew today?

Mashing in a Rye Ale hopped with Mosaic. Last time I made this it was at it's best when Ionly had 5 bottles left of the original 40 odd. Lesson learned for this time.

    Hello

I wouldn't worry about the abv. It'll still be nice at 5%. Surprised the expected FG is 1015. Mine came down to 1010 mashed @ 65c. Depends on the supplied yeast I suppose.

    Hello

I've got a Jaipur clone I brewed about 6 weeks ago from this recipe. https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/401347/thornbridge-jaipur-clone I've done it before, but It's come out better this time. It's very close to the original but for 45p a pint. Happy days indeed. Hope yours turns...

Duty rise for wine, and some high-strength sparkling cider

Sodium Percarboante grams to litre ratio?

I used to buy mine from our LHBS, the instructions said 3-4 teaspoons per 10 litres of hot water. Same as others I get it from Ebay now at 1/3 of the price.

I use the same as @Drunkula , but I got them from flebay. £3.99 sent from Manchester. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&toolid=10001&campid=5338413729&icep_item=183652875166

    What did you brew today?

English pale has gone by the wayside. Just about to mash in a Huell melon & Lemondrop wheat beer. Hopefully the mash doesn’t compact again.

    What are you drinking tonight.

Ha Ha, yeah. That went along with a Jaipur clone 6%, Citra & Centennial 5.5% and a B&M IPA hopped with Nelson Sauvin 5.6%. I really should start brewing a little lower abv beers, but they taste so good.
