ANGEL HOMEBREW - Robobrew Brewzilla v3.1.1 On Preorder

My guess would be that you got a spare fitting for the internal pump, it uses 2 90 degree silicon tubes. Hold on to it!

    Grain suppliers

Picked 25kg of lager malt from them a couple of weeks ago, made a kolsch and got excellent extraction. Had my first taste last night and the sample turned into 6 pints! Very good malt :)

    First time cold crash

Remember that cold crashing will cause a pressure drop in the fermenter which will suck in your airlock or blow off liquid! After I set my fridge low I remove the blow off from my jar of starsan and use a bulldog clip to clamp it, hopefully minimising oxygen coming back in.

    Disadvantages of No Chill

I no chill all of the time and store in HDPE 20l jerry cans. Sometimes I'll keep the wort in there for weeks as it lets me brew when I can (double length at times) and then have wort to ferment when stocks are starting to get low. I've had good results from cube hopping, where I'll get half my...

Floating dip tube in corny keg

I use these and had similar problems to begin with, I now weigh the float down with a SS washer or nut which keeps the end of the tube submerged.

    Question for robobrew users

Good idea, my set up is maybe a bit different to some as I don't use the overflow pipe. I block it on the bottom plate with a bolt so I have a mash basket without overflow. Don't have any flow issues though, so don't think this will make a difference. I'll have a play tonight and see how it...

    Question for robobrew users

Brewing yesterday with my robobrew I had a bit if a nightmare with mash temps, aiming for 66 it ranged from 61 to 70! Didn't seem to calm down and settle as it usually does. My normal routine is to add the grain at a strike temp of 70 but have the unit set to 66, once I'm done mashing in the...

Go ferm protect for beer yeast?

I do have a BrewPi controlled fridge, it was one of my earliest DIY projects , just thought about it and the hardware has been running constantly for 5 years without fault! Acetaldehyde was present in a kolsch that I've brewed lots before but I bulk aged this one in primary for 6 weeks, so that...

Isn't this what is known as extract brewing?

    Mixed gas 60/40

Homebrewers both carbonate and dispense using the same setup so use co2 only tanks rather than mixed pub gas. If you naturally carbonate your beers in the keg by adding priming sugar then you could probably get away with using pub gas to move the beer from keg to tap. I think you should...

King Keg & Pressured fermentation - possible or advisable?

I have an old PB sitting doing nothing and I did consider fermenting in it with the cap on. Seems to me that you'd get a ready made spunding valve set to 15 psi by using the cap? Never got around to this though!

SMASH brew, but tastes like an amazing NEIPA

Wow - 100g in 7 litres, no wonder it's a hop bomb! I brew a 21l brew length so I can fill a corny after fermentation so scaling your recipe I'd be sticking in 300g of citra :)
